    Sour grapes?

I don't care what football he thinks we play, the end of the day we scored 3 goals against them this week.

What a pathetic, bitter little man. Maybe their defenders should run into each other at the corners! I'd say they are a boring pass around the middle without threatening side

We really havent been a long ball team all season. A little more of late, but not all season.
I recall us playing some really nice football in the first half of the season.
Horses for courses.....we took 3 points from Tottenham, that's all that matters.

I don't know lads, that ball from Fuchs on the corner spot to Huths head on the penalty spot was pretty long <laugh>

I think it's really refreshing to have a different team fighting for the title, and from what I have seen this season, you are a very good footballing side.
Forget the whining git and his sour grapes, you deserve it. Would love to see you win the league, I really would. <ok>

As I wrote on their match thread - which incidentally didn't get an answer - what does it say about them if they know exactly how we play and have no counter to it?

It's because he's so used to playing internationally with the technically gifted and very mobile Benteke and Fellaini .. so fair play .. :)

For the record... we have only hit 28 more long passes than Spurs all season.

Who the f**k sits and counts these things? And who decides what a long pass is? Is there a standard measurement? I can't recall ever seeing the 2 guys with the tape measure on the pitch. Are they very small?

If you look at stats we get battered most weeks

If you actually watch us play you see we play fast moving counter attacking football. When you playing counter attacking football you cant make 10 passes to get out your own half because the opposition will get back

So its pure sour grapes from Spurs

    Anyway Mr Vertonghen

That long ball from Mr Fuchs followed by that long header by Mr Huth was delightful

People think long ball and they immediately think of Ryan Shawcross chucking it to Peter Crouch.

Drinkwater played a superb long range through ball to Kante in the first half.

Beckham and Gerrard were both lauded for their range of passing... pretty sure it wasn't for 5 yard sideways tiki-taka. :)

... and Glen Hoddle was arguably the longest hoofer of them all <whistle>

If your forwards are faster than the opposition defence who are playing a high line then why wouldn't you use that advantage?

It was proven statistically long ago that the fewer touches you have in a build up, the more likely you are to score.

The long passes we play tend to be targeted rather than just hopeful.... there is a difference, as our position in the league demonstrates.
