I do too for his sake, but we can’t afford to wait for him to recover. We’re in the **** and need to act NOW, before it’s too late.
If , as it sounded to me Nige is going to be off for a long while we’re going to have to move NOW. and get a replacement. I realise we have to do things in the correct manner, but we can’t hang about or else we’ll be in League 1 next season.

one of the things I was thinking when PS left was " did we get the real reason.. NP was rather blaise about it. Was there a confrontation? would'nt be NP's first one! NP is quite a caring sort of person! maybe that point in time was the start of straws building up to the one that broke the camels back!!!! until the truth comes out as to what maybe NP's diagnosis or someone spills the beans? or................

Whatever issues Nigel is dealing with right now I would urge him to consider that aspect of his life is the most important part to consider. I wish him well whatever the final decision may be but I have seen a distinct downturn in his body language during interviews and I predicted this current scenario might happen. Currently he is manager at a club that has been wandering around the desert for years with absolutely no idea as to what they want to be when they grow up and that is definitely not a place to be if you are suffering. How much longer can we stand the thought of another season of discontent and feeling like a mushroom which look as if they will continue till the cows come home with a person who really knows how to set up a team squad and then make them competitive?

Get well Nigel and take good care of yourself.

    My thought for the morning;
Makes me wonder if NP got what it takes to actually get a team playing well, wasn't it the tactics and setup of Claudio Ranieri that won Leicester the Premiership, with more or less the same bunch of players that got him the sack for poor performances leading to a relegation threat?......Maybe he's good at the infrastructure side of things but lacks finesse when it comes to tactics.......this is the vibe I'm getting. Maybe more, director of football material!!
I really don't wish NP ill feeling and hope he gets well soon.....but our situation week by week is turning into a disaster that needs urgent attention.
I think SL needs to make some decisions to where we go from here, before it's too late..
And as for that Richard Gould.........I'm unimpressed.

Nigel holds the cards to what happens next-he is being paid very well and has a three year contract.
Bristol City have not and don't want to sack him-however if Nigel decides to leave then the door is open for a replacement manager.
Bristol City have to wait and see what Nigel decides to do.
One thing health is more important than any job and certainly one with high pressure attached to it like football.

I think you'll find that SL holds the cards......This can not go on for too long...it appears that NP has previous with health issues and if the vibe that I got from RG interview with GT last night has anything to go by, it could be a while if at all of his return..
I hope that SL is thinking and putting in place a plan of action and not dithering like we did when LJ was departed from the club, if it appears NP can no longer continue.......

Of course health is more important than any job, that goes without saying, and of course I want Nige to take whatever time he needs to. Recover.

However We can’t just dither, we need to either appoint an interim manager say till the end of the season, and give Nige time to recover, or as soon as is contractually possible wish Nige all the best with his recovery, pay him off or whatever needs to be done and appoint a new manager.

I pretty much agree, we can't dither. And a dead cat bounce would get City through till January.
    I called for a club statement after Coventry, I wished I hadn't.
RG in his first 'crisis interview' failed miserably. Sounded totally out of his depth.
Trying to 'read' his interview I'm honestly no wiser about NP's situation or a plan of any description to arrest our alarming slide to L1.

Silence? Lack of statements? No clear information? Dithering?
Business as usual at BS3 then…….

Club don't want NP to go according to RG and are waiting on NPs decision-the balls are in his court.
Club can't do anything until NP decides which way he wants to go.

If he does go let’s hope we don’t start a long interviewing shambles like before.

your #28 [ replied to #33 ] and your #30 seem to be a Q #28 & A #30 you answer your own question! as I said always check out wicki......

Absolutely right, family, health and fall out to others is very important, in fact the first 3 rules, [ maybe 1 & 2 can be reversed in circumstance ]

hindsight, RG's response to Pato [ those shown door ] often shows the answer was there ..... S & D had something, no real negatives, SL paid a price to get them and we did very well with them. IMO something transpired [ negatively ] around the time of NP's second dose / CF getting promoted over PS which has led to this dramatic down turn of results. Bentley had a broadcast, which at the time I thought was a bit rich considering the result .... RG could be between a rock and a hard place, hence his reluctance apparently to have an "unstressful" sounding interview ....
there is 12 match's to end of transfer window .... 4 and a cup game in January ...

Just assuming it is stress related, but in a medium form, that could take 2 -3 months of counselling? Would need to stay away from team and club decisions as could compound stress level..............

of course they do not want him to go, on a contract that is likely to be £2-3 million ...!
