Do we look in to them or are they what the title says just "friendlies". We certainly ain't scoring goals again and it's a worry for me. Today against Birmingham we had a very strong team out, probably not far from our starting team.

    Anyone else worried?

Will we be the whipping boys next season?

And it's about SB finding a formulation that works together

Cardiff drew 1-1 away at Cheltenham. Friendlies are just that, from what Buckingham said it looks like a strong team but Boyd at wing back and Brady off Graham isn't exactly what we're going to start with. SB has had enough pre seasons to know their value.

Quinn chatting on Humberside now, it's all about minutes on the pitch as the fitness work on the training ground during pre-season is so gruelling.

They couldn't put in a massive performance even if they wanted to. Quite simply, at this stage, they're just not ready yet.

I'm sure most of us knew this already.

Pre season seems like a torrid ride of melancholy and angst. On a post last week you were asking about people feeling nervous – now you’re writing about feeling worried.

I’d get down the quacks for some pills mate.

Exactly - which is why I haven't been to a pre-season friendly for years. There's nothing at stake so managers can experiment with systems and not worry too much about the result. These games have no bearing on how teams do when the real stuff starts

Do us all a favour go get some chill pills or something. The season hasn't even started and you are worried already. ****ing hell Moyes first game in charge of Man U was a draw for christ sake.

In the past we've won all pre season games, scored loads then lost the first league game.

In 2008/9 pre season we lost 4-0 at Crewe, ffs.

    I am worried.

About the number of poodle supporters who are 'worried'.

As many have said, it is just about fitness. However, if we had scored loads of goals and won every game, people would be saying they are worth a little more.

As others have said, form in pre season is no indicator as to how the season will go. It's a time for us to test things out, build fitness and allow new members of the team to settle in. Keep calm folks.

Also a chance for Bruce to experiment with players in new positions or formations - to see what will work (or not).

We looked **** and totally disorganised in pre-season last year and even in the CoC the week before the season started. We got promoted.

    It means fook all.

I normally do pretty much every pre-season, but they're so **** that I decided not to bother this season. I did Ferriby out of tradition and I would have done Hamburg for a laugh(I've got mates there), but they mean absolutely nothing.

A few seasons ago City won all their pre-season games against some good clubs then went on to have a very poor season and if memory serves me right they were eventually relegated. So I don't put any credence to pre-season results.( But like you I'm worried about the lack of goals)

Because they're prepared to waste £1m a game to stage these exhibition matches.
