We have a game in hand on Spurs. That could become seven points depending on what happens today. Their upcoming run of fixtures is not kind. I think it IS realistic we could finish above them (it pains to have to talk this way about a team whose position has always been behind us, but it shows how far we have fallen); I agree with you on third, and again this shows how far we have fallen. We are no longer concerned with teams like Manchester United because we are no longer in a position to challenge for the title.
For what it's worth, here's my table: My predictions probably rate Spuds too high but I wasn't harsh with our results. I gave us lots of draws and a few wins towards the end of the season. Oh and I didn't expect Newcastle to place so high, either.
I'm finding it incredibly difficult to see us finish above Chelsea so we could be 5th. However after today's game we have just made it more of a fight to keep Liverpool and Newcastle behind. I think Spuds are long gone. Just look at our upcoming fixtures. If we bring in decent reinforcements in what's left of this month we could still challenge for 4th. If not, we won't.

We played 21 games to get 36 points and you reckon that in the 17 to come we will easily get 30? I hope we get more but on this form, with this team and manager and this board, I think we would need a miracle.

Our manager for whatever reason seems unable to influence the team when they are playing badly and it has been nearly a year now that we have reached a new low.
