We are now only a month away from the start of the season. What does everyone think will happen this year? Personally I have a mixture of nervousness and hope - a lot of clubs have spent a lot of money and new managers abound. I have no idea about how Mazzarri will do - is he a Sannino, a Jokavich, a Flores - we clearly are now in a position to regard ourselves as having a right to be in the Premier League - we are no longer the new boys. I am going to be optimistic and predict wew will improve on last year - but am very concerned avbout the difficulty of our opening fixtures - if they go badly it could affect our whole season - we need a reasonalbe start - andI woud accept a few draws to get going. If we start as we could with 5 defeats it will leave us a mountain - and yet those first five fixtures will take some competing. Here's hoping. This is my predicted outcome 1 Manchester City 2 Arsenal 3 Manchester United 4 Spurs 5 Chelsea 6 West Ham 7 Liverpool 8 Southampton 9 Stoke 10 Watford 11 Leicester 12 Everton 13 Crystal Palace 14 West Brom 15 Swansea 16 Middlesboro 17 Sunderland 18 Burnley 19 Bournemouth 20 Hull Anyone else ready to guess yet?
Leo I did a prediction league based on this last season and had said I would do the same this season.... I mention it again http://www.not606.com/threads/watford-predictions-league-suggestions-thread.332303/ a few days back http://www.not606.com/threads/the-run-in-the-results.323509/page-3 I was planning to start in September
I will predict properly closer to the time - here are the predictions of my dreams: Champions: Watford 2. Liverpool 3. Stoke City 4. Leicester Relegated: Chelsea and 2 others. Championship: Promoted, Norwich and QPR. Relegated: Leeds 1st Div. Promoted: Port Vale and 2 others Relegated: MK. Dons 2nd Div. Promoted: Portsmouth and 3 others Relegated: Luton German Bundesliga 1. FC. Cologne 2. Hamburg SV. 3. Borussia Dortmund Relegated: Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen Seriously though I think Liverpool will be champions this year.
Sorry - did not see about that and do not remember from last season. This thread was not intended to be a prediction league - just a one off by anyone who cared to post BEFORE the start of the season to help add interest rather than leave us all wallowing in the Brexit thread. It sounds as if your league is one that people can update etc - so please go ahead in September or whenever you like
Come September we will know a lot more than now as we will be half way though that early season mountain. Anyone who wants to give a pre-season guess feel free.
A fair challenge, so I had a stab at this. One certainty is that I'm hopeless at predicting, so this list could be useful for purposes of elimination. It is definitely how the table will NOT look at the end of the season! 1 Manchester City (regrettably) 2 Chelsea (even more regrettably) 3 Arsenal 4 Manchester United 5 Liverpool 6 Spurs 7 Everton 8 Leicester 9 West Ham 10 Crystal Palace 11 Stoke 12 Southampton 13 Swansea 14 Watford 15 Bournemouth 16 Middlesborough 17 Burnley 18 West Brom 19 Hull 20 Sunderland
So this is a sort of vote without all the necessary prior information to make a cogent, proper decision..? Once we've voted are we stuck with our choice?
Yes and you can feel smugly assured that if this year's selection is useless that it will come good in a few seasons from now
If we go by last season then surely Sunderland will be champions? In reality, I suspect that they will finish mid table if they keep Big Sam.
Correct - only difference is it does not undo 43 years of history and you can also have a choice in the real Yorkie League in September. (actually he should open a pub and call it the Yorkie Bar. Coat on; taxi has arrived..........
1. Liverpool 2. Spurs 3. Man. Utd 4. Arsenal 5. Man. City 6. Chelsea 7. Stoke City 8. Leicester 9. Everton 10. West Ham 11. Watford 12. Southampton 13. Crystal Pal. 14. Middlesbrough 15. West Brom 16. Sunderland 17. Swansea 18. Burnley 19. Bournemouth 20. Hull City
Sadly i can't see us doing anywhere near as well as last season at the moment, this time last year i was full of hope and predicting 13th or above, this season i think we'll be lucky to stay out of the bottom 3 by the end of the season but obviously i won't put that prediction here because it'll tempt fate! So...here's my league come the end of the 16/17 season...you can bet on it! 1. Man City 2. Chelsea 3. Man United 4. Spurs 5. Liverpool 6. Arsenal 7. West Ham 8. Everton 9. Leicester 10. Southampton 11. Stoke 12. Sunderland 13. Swansea 14. West Brom 15. Middlesbrough 16. Watford 17. Crystal Palace 18. Bournemouth 19. Burnley 20. Hull
