Doubtfire has been 'reminded of his responsibility' - ref chose not to act to his outrageous reaction so the FA's hands are a bit tied after that

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet charged over Hull City incident
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following the match against Hull City on Tuesday.

The charge relates to kicking a water bottle as he was sent to the stands in the 35th minute of the Premier League match, which finished 1-1.

Bruce has been contacted by the FA over a touchline row with Poyet and formally reminded of his responsibilities.

Poyet has until 18:00 GMT on Monday to respond to the charge.

The incident at the KC Stadium occurred with Sunderland trailing 1-0.

Poyet was sent to the stands by referee Mike Dean for reacting badly to a yellow card for midfielder Jack Rodwell, who later equalised in the second half.

The Sunderland manager kicked over a water bottle carrier in the dugout and Bruce had to be restrained by an assistant referee and his own coaching staff as the pair squared up moments later.

Bruce described it as "grown men acting like children", blaming the incident on the "heat of the moment".

Poyet said: "What happens on the pitch stays there."

So basically, what the FA are telling us. Is that an assault on a water bottle is more serious than an assault on a match official. Pathetic.

Gus reckons he could see the game better from his vantage point in the stands, and that it helped him make tactical decisions. I would have thought playing PVA and Alvarez, two of our only creative players who can occasionally beat a man and look a threat, would be an obvious decision from the off, but there you go.

I really want Poyet to walk now. Had enough of him.

I hope he keeps us up, decides he's taken us as far as he can and we hand pick a pro from the continent.

Just because someones personal opinion of an assault is more serious in their own mind doesn't change the definition of an assault. He pushed the official, that's assault by law, not only that nobody is permitted to put their hands on an official in an aggressive manner. It was an assault, it just doesn't comply with Lambretta's own personal blinked view of an assault.

Both managers are joke and both should be strung up as an example not just one.

You've just put the FA and right minded in the same sentance. Know I know you're an idiot.

But chances are the fa is only right minded when it's a decision benefiting Hull. Like I said Blinkered.

    • An assault is when the one person makes the other fear that immediate force will be used against them. This could be anything from shaking a fist or running a finger across a throat. No force needs to be applied in order for it to be an assault.
I also draw your attention to the case of the FA VS Paul Ince and Alex Rae.

Yet Bruce pushed him and was clearly acting aggressively. I rest me case. Idiot.
