Just wondering if any of you are any clearer on POTY after our blemish of late. I think we were all struggling to decide recently. I certainly couldn't separate the entire back 5 a few weeks ago but I'm now clear in my mind that there is a clear winner - take a bow Master Christopher Solly . He has remained solid even as others have taken turns to have a faux-pas or three. Hopefully I'm not putting the mockers on him by saying that!
I really think that an AV system should be used this year... I still can't decide and I'd like the democratic edge but if I HAVE to choose just one then... Solly (sorry Yann)
Chris Solly all the way. He is a class act and must romp home to the Player of the Year Award. Besides, he could get away with having an affair with my wife. That is the gauge used for deciding who has impressed me the most over the season.
With a nod to Cheltenham Race Week - 1) Solly (by a distance) 2) Morrison (by a short head) 3) Wiggins (by a nose) Officially placed fourth - Kermorgant Did not start - Alonso Still to finish - Clarke
Oh I get it. Our night in Chesterfield was just to get back at your Missus for having an affair with Solly!! Humph!!
I must admit, when we were talking about the POTY about a month ago, i shut my eyes and plumped for Matty Taylor, but this was primarily after his display v Sheff U, but now it has to be without a shadow Chris Solly. What a player we have unearthed.
Solly will win, but I like Taylor, so he'd get my vote...or Yann, his heading ability is unreal! We all know Solly will win, so I'm simply going to help someone to 2nd place
It has to be between Solly and Yann. For me it is difficult to decide. Solly has over achieved from where we thought he was at the end of last season and has proved capable of playing well with whoever CP has thrown on the right wing. Yann was a "failed" footballer who has turned his career around with us and is solid in our side. I believe that both names are inked on the teamsheet no matter what other changes are made to the side and you cannot get a better recommendation for POTY than that. Wiggins and Morro are both good players but are definitely also rans in my mind for this trophy. Interestingly if any body put togoether a vote for "not the player of the year" for players that have appeared in our league campaign I reckon we would have a pretty unanimous vote.
