As part of the evaluation process for when 606 goes we have been making some positive comments about this site so I thought it would be useful to get some balance by raising anything that could be considered negative. But also please add a comment about anything you feel is an improvement on 606. To start the ball rolling (appreciating that some items may be of little/no importance to many): Negatives 1. I have posted two messages to the administrators and have had no reply to either. This could be an indication that any suggestions for improvement/extension could fall on deaf ears. 2. There is no advertising on the site so maybe funding of further development could be a problem 3. It should be very easy to post a new thread/article but, depending on where you are, it is not so straight forward as 606 4. No facility to create video albums 5. Document attachments are very limited in size 6. Once you start a thread you cannot change the thread heading 7. Alignment of columns not possible (same as 606) 8. Could do with a "Return without posting" facility Positives 1. I think the search facilities are far superior to those of 606 2. I like the idea of sharing photo albums, although video albums would a good addition (as in 606 Refugees) 3. Being able to see who has viewed your posts 4. There is a printable version Feel free to add any other
There seems to be a lot of active promotion from New606 and 606V2 so this site will need to be on its toes to keep ahead of those, or any other new ones that emerge.
i am old school ron took me long enough to get used to this site and quite a few blues fans have joined up on here so i am happy where i am
So am I Rocky. But if other sites overtake this one and people start drifting off we will lose our community. I am promoting this site and no other but I like to be pre-emptive and will help to keep this site ahead of the competition. I have also been approached by another site but, apart from keeping a watch on things I'm here and only here. I have emailed the 606 mods and await a response.
same here ron we have some very good conversations with other blues fans and long may that continue and hopefully on here but you never know what the future holds.
ron i have had emails from other sites but now all the teething troubles on here have been sorted i am very happy to stay on here.most of the blues fans seem happy with this site but it would be good if anyone has any problems on here that they let us know about it .
All my photos disappeared and I have had no help whatsoever. Sarah claims her photos were stolen. It is very suspicious. I'll see what happens to another photo I've put up. The site was down for several hours today. Mick was on a plane and sorted it when he got back but that sounds like the site could be in trouble if Mick is not around. Is there no back up resource?
Does it really matter if there are no photos? We are all here to talk about Wycombe, not the latest X Factor wannabes or appreciate family photos. We made do without them on BBC 606, why do we need these 'extras' here? There are enough people who use this website to have a decent discussion which is the whole point of a forum at the end of the day.
Agreed Josh but the point is they went missing and having reported it to the mod(s) and administrator(s) there was no explanation. I take it you are having a go at me posting about my daughter. I have removed the link from my signature. I didn't realise there was such anti feeling towards socialising.
