Been thinking tonight whilst reading your board, is there anyone actually good enough to take over from Sven? After all, his record was not to bad! I have come up with 2 managers which everyone seems to have forgotten.. Giovanni Trapattoni & Carlo Ancelotti (been mentioned?) Huge managers, with a massive history of managing great clubs. GT has also said that he may quit ROI even if they qualify for the Euros. To be honest, i cant see your Thai owners going for some unknown or a manager without a proven record.
Sven will certainly be a tough act to follow. Can't see Trapattoni leaving Ireland now. Ancelotti has been mentioned, but I think unlikely. I said early that I can't see us taking a chance on an untried manager at this level. I wouldn't like to have been the man that sacked Sven and presents a nobody as his replacement!
I'm desperate for it to be Ancelotti or Di Matteo, my auntie loves them and would absolutely wee herself with happiness. Trap I think is less popular with the Italian public after his time with the national team though! We may as well throw Fergie's name into the hat at this ridiculous guessing stage with Benitez and Ancelotti in the betting though. In fact why stop there, Keith Millen's available On a serious note, I think Sven genuinely did want to rebuild his reputation amongst other things, how many other big name managers are desperate for a job? Rightly or wrongly this job has a poisoned chalice reputation, the Thais need to realise this if they are expecting anyone to say yes to them. I think out of the names thrown about Mark Hughes is the most likely as he has Premiership experience. He wouldn't be my first choice, or my second but he wouldn't be my last either.
The more I think about Di Matteo, the more I can see him in the role. But as anyone else linked him with us other than you Emilio? ;-)
O'Neil would be great for you guys, knows the club inside out. One manager that we all wanted was Gianfranco Zola, but i dont think he would have fancied a relagation battle Could do a half decent job for you guys tho
yea i know it wont happen but you need to see how much it would make people from other clubs in the championship laugh
Yeah thats true, there are alot of good managers out of work atm (and McClaren ). Just hope we can get a good motivator, even someone who will go apeshit at them if they are playing badly to kick them up the arse.
This is from the sun KARL ROBINSON is a surprise contender to succeed Sven Goran Eriksson at Leicester. The Football League's youngest manager, 31, has impressed after steering MK Dons into sixth place in League One. And he joins fans' favourite and former boss Martin O'Neill as front-runners for the Foxes hotseat. Ex-England chief Eriksson was sacked by the club on Monday night after barely a year in charge and having spent around £13million. City's ambitious owners have now promised a giant transfer kitty of £20m to welcome the new manager. The bit at the end will surely have managers licking their lips if it's true
You may have a go at me for saying this..... But what about Dave Jones? He done a good job at Cardiff, i know he didnt get them promoted, but as we all know, its a 50/50 game in the play off final and anyone can win it.
what the the KKK? (king kevin keegan) big named been out for a while might want to come back into management.
woahhhhh hang on, im not having this, i mentioned this name the day he was sacked and was ridiculed for it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Totally agree PF, but the play off final is a 50/50 game which anyone can win. Just look at Bristol City when they played Hull, a freak shot by a dustman won them the game! I suppose the only thing Dave Jones has not done, is get automatic promotion, which i believe is what your owners want?
