    Just realised there is a page two to that article and the top of it says that he hopes to be back within a month. So at least he isn't out for as long as he could have been. Here's hoping he is back for the Sunderland game.

    I'll happily give him months to get back to his best.

    I can't see Pardew playing him for the full 90 minutes given that he's just back from his double leg break and will now miss the remainder of pre-season matches.

    I'm still very excited at having him back and available for selection.

    Yeah i really hope he's good to go against the mackems, I'm just wary of Bramble and Clattermole trying to stamp him into the ground.

    I hope to **** we keep our best players and manage to sign another decent striker. PLEEEEASE!!!!

    He doesn't have the same competition for a spot as he had there either -- I really can't foresee him being relegated to the bench when he's fit. He's really seemed to mature in the past year

    He won't be like he was in France, this is a new Ben Arfa trust me.

    I'd put money on him going off injured in the derby.

    I think Pardew has done a lot of good things but it will be a mistake if Ben Arfa starts in the Fiorentina friendly or our first couple of games of the season. Bring him on as a sub and ease him back in.
