by a Pompey side I have ever seen- and that's a lot of games. If young Michael was not aware of the size of his task before Saturday, he does now! And so to Leicester City. New manager and coming off the back of a 3-0 home win, I sure his boys will be out to impress him away from home. Sounds familiar....
Based on what happened next with NA, I'm liking the fact that there are such similarities between NA's and MA's (Even their initials are similar!) first game in charge!
Let's hope for this game our team members actually understand what the manager wants of them. I'm tempted to say that footballers aren't usually credited with being the brightest sparks in the fuse box........... but I'll try and resist....... oh, too late I wasn't at the game so can only go by what I heard on the radio. Everyone says how well Rocha can read the game, and from what I heard he was one having a real mare on Saturday. In fact the whole back four, who are normally pretty reliable, were shaky and lacking confidence. Tal Ben Haim is normally ok on the pitch, and got subbed early on. Having thought about it - I know this isn't the first time it's happened, but there is either 1 player there who can demotivate/disrupt the rest of the team, or something else was wrong. I just find it difficult to believe that 11/12 players all agree to not bother.
Who's making comparisons? Certainly not me. NP is a good proven Manager. My point was one of irony- Did we not beat Forest 3-0 and then blow it bigtime at Watford when they should have impressed. The Foxes come to FP on the back of the same result I think. I also think they will not make the same hash of it as we did. That's all.
