Last weak I started a thread that looked for good omens from our opposition. Amazingly we won so this feature lives for another week. Sunderland play at the stadium of light. Light sabres were used in Star Wars and Luke sky walker was a dab hand with one. Luke Young is still a QPR player and we used to win in some of the games he played in. More please.
QPR have never played a league game against another team that has Rangers in its name, Nile Ranger is allegedly a professional footballer, Nile Rodgers is a record producer and once a member of Chic, Chic had a hit with La Freak, Frankenstein's monster was hounded by the villagers 'cos he was a freak, Robert de Niro once played Frankenstein's monster alongside Kenneth Branagh, Branagh was once married to Emma Thompson who appeared in The Young Ones as a posh University Challenge contestant, Bamber Gascoigne was the famous presenter of University Challenge, as was Jeremy Paxman (known as Paxo), Paxo is well-known brand of stuffing in the UK, Stuffing is popular with Sunday roasts, but chestnut stuffing is popular at Christmas, Stockings, trees and carols are also popular at Christmas, although I hate the X Factor for their ****ing Christmas singles, Simon Cowell is 100% to blame for this, and he also wears his trouser waistband up around his nipples, Nipples are a particular attractive feature of a lady's "chesticles" - I am also partial to an impressive cleavage, Stevenage, on the other hand, is far from impressive and is a new town like Telford, Thomas Telford was a Victorian engineer who's had his cigar airbrushed out of photos, Top models and film stars have their worst bits airbrushed out of photos, such as wrinkles, Wrinkles rhymes with crinkles, which is a type of crisp, known as chips in the USA, Chips are part of the 5-a-day in the North East alongside pies, chocolate bars, blocks of lard and ***s, Sunderland is a city in the North-East that has a football team that's gonna concede five on Saturday. It's written.
OK. I won't read ny more of this thread - brilliant - end of chat as far as I'm concerned - Uber you do have a life don't you?
You're looking for omens we can repeat the Southampton result? Sunderland and Southampton - both seaside towns with a chip on their shoulder about a better known neighbour. Both have football clubs who've moved to new stadiums. Both beat Man City at home and drew with Fulham......thats about it. Big difference between this week and last week is that at Southampton, no-one gave us a prayer. This Saturday, we're favourites, laughable though that sounds. A week is a long time in politics and football.
I'll never take him seriously again. My viewing of University Challenge will now be overrun with heckling Bisto and Bernard Matthews adverts at the screen.
Uber..........I've tried to match your brilliant effort and although I've come up with some reasonable efforts, they really don't compare. Thanks for ruining the thread with your excellence!!
Methinks it is a masterpiece, obviously written by someone of intellectual brilliance that one can only assume is a RRRRR'rrs supporter, held in the highest regard.
