Lol, he's only been managing in Australia before Celtic and any clown can win the league in Scotland - see Gerrard, Souness, Strachan, Lennon blah blah.

Another 6 points this season again then.

It's almost like Levy is doing an Ashley and trying to stick two fingers up at the fans here,

Think he could do pretty well. He has won trophies wherever he has managed (Australia, Japan, Scotland) and also got the national team into two World Cups. They have some serious rebuilding to do, and probably have a Levy-limited budget. It could be a good match.

Potentially, but pretty much every manager who has been successful in Scotland fails here, only Rodgers really has been a success over here...and that's after he established himself as a manager over here, then went over there for a nice easy break, before deciding he wanted a real job again and came back over here.

If he was that good, I wonder why he didn't get picked up by a decent club 3 years ago instead of having to go to Scotland.

They'll sell him and spend a fortune on a replacement who's dogshit, like when they tried to replace Bale with Soldado.

If I was HK I would be all over this. Levy is going to be a d*ck about him going to any other prem club. He's not going to City, Arsenal or us. No chance of winning anything significant enough to leave spurs with the rest of them. If he goes to Madrid they win the league and outside of Man City, Real have the best chance of winning Champs League. Plus, it's Real Madrid! I'd be kicking down Levy's door in his position.

He was something of a one off tbf. And I mean recently, ie in the last 25 years since English football left Scottish football in the dust

He only has another year on his contract, he could technically just walk after next season, and end the season by beating Shearers record

Probably because a lot of Europeans have the same attitude you did, that because he’s from a non-footballing power he can’t be any good, so he has had to work his way up slowly.

The reason that the Lampards and Gerrards of this world get jobs because they were famous players over true coaches who are much more skilled and have learned their trade properly is why these coaches have to prove themselves in lower leagues and at lower clubs.

On AP this is where Spurs are at now. It's a total rebuild job and TBF he seems like a good option. Guarantee if they had got Nanglesmann in for instance it would go wrong again. This guy seems level headed, can identify good players in the market, has a bit more of a presence and would be able to get players in side while keeping them in line.

The opportunity is now. It's unlikely to be there in a years time. His legacy as a goalscorer for club and country is secure. He should go for the new experience and almost guaranteed success

Not so much, it's just Scottish football is ****e, really REALLY ****e.

So I reserve the right to have reservations about the ability of any manager coming from there.

Indeed. Imagine people’s shock when Arsenal appointed Arsene Wenger. Conversely look at managers who are allegedly world class like Conte.
