Taken from the Guardian. "Uwe Rosler is sending Ryan Tunnicliffe back to Fulham in a ruthless move ahead of Saturday's FA Cup semi-final. Rosler, the Wigan Athletic manager, has ran out of patience with the former Manchester United trainee and terminated his loan spell early, with the midfielder now facing an uncertain future. Tunnicliffe was signed on loan from Fulham in February without making an appearance under new manager Felix Magath and has struggled to impress Rosler. The 21 year-old reacted furiously to his substitution in the 1-1 draw at Bolton last month and Rosler has also been frustrated by his attitude in training. Wigan contacted Fulham on Wednesday to scrap the deal but the Premier League strugglers have told Tunnicliffe he is not welcome back until next week, as they prepare for Saturday's crucial game against Norwich. Rene Meulensteen, Magath's predecessor, signed Tunnicliffe from United on deadline day but he only made two appearances before being loaned out to Wigan. Magath is understood to have already told Tunnicliffe he can leave Craven Cottage at the end of the season." Very disappointing if true, in what little I've seen of him he looked decent enough. Can Magath really know enough about him to just cast him aside?
It might well be true, he hasn't been in a match day squad for Wigan since that game he apparently threw a strop in. Hopefully if it is true we hold on to him and help him grow into the player that he can be.
Agree FI, although 'grow up' is what young Ryan needs to do, Sorry but he needs to prove himself before even thinking about taking the hump.
Quite. We don't need a stroppy kid hanging about upsetting the atmosphere before a very important game.
I think he's quite entitled to be miffed if he's been told he's leaving at the end of the season! I can't comment on what the situation is at Wigan though
The journo would wrote this has overdone a bit. If he is not wanted at the training ground this week it is because we are preparing for the biggest game of our season and Felix clearly wants to work with the players he knows and that know him. Must be difficult for tunnicliffe though, however, there is no smoke without fire so I would question why Wigan are returning him before feeling for him too much
I'm not so convinced that the journo was egging the story. Going back to Tunnicliffe's short time under Felix, Ryan was less than happy to be told that he was playing in an U21 match after a day's training. We lost that match 3-1 at home to Leicester. I commented at the time how poor we were and although I didn't specifically mention Tunnnicliffe, he simply "didn't turn up on the night". Remember this was right at the beginning of Felix's reign when he wanted to get across his ideas about training and no doubt expectations about commitment. I don't think Tunnicliffe's attitude on being told to play that evening went down well.
