The 23-year-old withdrew from England's World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine after limping off 68 minutes into his debut against Fulham. "We were ready to bring him off and unfortunately on that last jump he got hit by Brede Hangeland," said Hammers boss Sam Allardyce.

Yep, he has been treated really shoddily by Liverpool and Rodgers. Can't say l was too chuffed to see him go to West Ham. Truth is for me, unless he is wearing the Black and White stripes of NUFC he just does not look right. Shame about his injury, he was looking something close to his old self when he played against Fulham, their defense simply could not handle him. I wish him well, except for when and if he turns out against us that is.
