I may be missing something here Massive, but is that a euphemism for something else?

I'm sure the battering can be minimised by gentle handywork, and the damage caused by all year round visitors reduced by using a webcam instead. <ok>

Too late for gentle handywork as its seen much better days, Webcam is a good ideal but you can't beat the thrill of actually being inside the old ruin and feeling the damage caused by huge battering rams that pounded away over the years<cheers>

I'm sure its seen its fair share of kings and a few queens, even knights but they normally stayed for one night... I would go there more often but I seem to always come away smelling a bit musty and damp.

"Coming away smelling musty and damp" is a bit of a clue.

I reckon you're really Snow White and you've kept quiet about those other two dwarfs.

Just come back from Dorset. Didn't go up the castle though. It really is a derelict ruin having had too many assaults from both front and rear. The surrounding flora and fauna is a bit overgrown as well. All could do with a damn good trim.

Good view from the hill tops above which are still in relatively good shape. Some excellent leisure time can be had up there.

The Scotts Arms has a particularly good view - just to show I have been there!!!!

You need to be very careful though, entry can be very hazardous from the front. If the portcullis comes down when you're entering, a quick withdrawal is recommended.

You could try from the rear, but hazards await and you could esily slip down the wrong passage into a very dark place.

I've no doubt Massive has been there and tried both options. The question is which did he prefer?
