Leeds United have confirmed the capture of Pontus Jansson on a season long loan from Torino ... the Swedish international centre back is available for selection on Saturday hopefully "Pontus Pilot" will be a real beacon in defence, and this human lighthouse helps to steer us away from the rocks and we're soon riding the crest of a wave all the way to the Beach of Gold please log in to view this image with apologies to Pontius Pilate (well, maybe)
With this guy and Wood up for corners the opposition might have a handful assuming we can get a decent corner in
excellent point, wasn't even thinking about his attacking threat ... and he seems to have good ball control as well Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
My only concern is.... I believe this guy is a Cellino signing, I am hoping Monk was consulted about him if so... We need to be signing players the coach wants and players who are going to improve the starting 11 we don't want squad players or ones that don't fit the coaches plans, we have enough of those.
I actually believe that he shouldn't walk into the team. I'd rather he got to know his team-mates a bit first, plus I don't think the Cooper / Bartley combo did an awful lot wrong last match. Which of the two would you drop? Toughie. I'd rather he got the ER experience sitting on the bench to prepare him, rather than the possibility of him being affected whilst on the pitch. He wouldn't be the first to freeze in his first game for Leeds. Having said this, I'm really looking forward to see him play. Part of me wants to see him play for the U23s at ER tonight, but suspect that's not going to happen.
For once Ristac, I think you can take it as a given that Monk would have been consulted on this one. Monk is no mug and I doubt very much he would ever have taken the job if he felt that Cellino would be deciding who's in the squad. Didn't someone say that Jansson is already known to one of Monk's Management Team?
Addresses my own fear http://www.insidefutbol.com/2016/08...onk-radar-since-swansea-manager-spell/300358/
Pontus played at Malmo when Pep Clotet was there, and he has said he enjoyed working with Pep ... this is a Monk signing just like Antonsson, another Pep recommendation ... coming from an Italian club does not make him a Cellino signing ... Monk clearly trusts Pep, and so far so good Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
“I think that Leeds have done a sensationally good acquisition in getting Pontus Jansson on a loan at this time,” Lundh told BBC Radio Leeds. Lundh is a Swedish sports reporter...
I agree, I think we are looking very strong in that position now.... Bellusci got a hard time and sometimes undeserved but he was one of those that always had a mistake in him, Bamba a nightmare, if we lost cooper and it was Bamba/Bellusci I always feared the worse. True we haven't seen Pontus play yet but fingers crossed
