PS: I shall shed crocodile tears if Exeter triumph on Tuesday as promotion is the goal, and we are behind on games played and finding room for another midweek match is a bit of a concern as I fully expect Pompey to progress in the FA Cup.

Not satisfied with two goals in open play today Ides you now expect us to beat Arsenal!! Well I won't complain if it happens. the congested fixture list does help in keeping a large squad involved. Looking at our bench, with the exception of Whatmough, returning from long term injury, all have had at least a spattering of 1st team football and some a lot more than that. I would like to see us beat Exeter. While promotion is the main objective maintaining a winning habit, and giving the majority of the squad regular involvement cannot be underestimated. At this stage we are very lucky to have so few injuries. However, they will come - and yellow cards must be mounting or some players. A good result today!
