I cannot see that he has done anything wrong . It was up to her estate agent to sort this out.

I wonder how people would react if she had neglected her job to sort out the licence herself.

I think that the next part of this story will be that Kebatu will come to grief in his own country.

Looks the other way tbh given the letting agent has just publicly apologized to her.

If it is their **** up and directly told they had it covered then I retract my previous suggestion that she should resign.

Funny that there has been some recoil at Badenoch saying 'well if something like this is a resigning matter, then maybe you should resign for the time you hacked a ministers emails'.

I can't fathom why X, Tiktok and FB arent banned tbh.

If anyone thinks that is an extreme concept, could you imagine the KGB being allowed to have a direct line into the population during the Cold War? Because that is essentially what those social media platforms allow.

If I have one particular gripe with Labour (and the global center/left) its that they aren't aggressive enough, they should match the right hit for hit, or in some cases get in before hand.

I'm not generally in favour of banning things tbh, but social media platforms certainly need to be properly regulated.

Labour are terrible at controlling the narrative, which is related to what you saying I think.

Rather than getting into a lather about what the media are reporting, it might be worth wondering where all this relatively private information is coming from in the first place. Of course it's not totally private but it's also not the type of information usually available without some inside knowledge. First Rayner and now Reeve's dirty washing getting into the public domain. Someone on the inside is dishing the dirt.

They still don't get it. They still think its the "right wing press" or "powerful social media companies" that eek this stuff out. The majority of this stuff i insider briefing. politics is an incredibly self obsessed "ambitious" business and they take each other out. If they sniff a chance they use whatever skeletons they know about to clear a path for their own faction and it doesn't stop there. Once they have their own faction in they still go after more to get themselves higher.

It wasn't labour or the press that messed the Tories up. It was the Tories. Same as is happening now. Always happened. Stuff they know or have known about they wait for the right time and give "scoops" to journos. Useful tools to help with the scent up the greasy pole.

Well if is an inside job it’s not helping their cause. Ambition over party I guess is what you are saying. Not convinced Labour aren’t under more scrutiny personally, and I’m no Starmer fan really.

They probably are, but that is because of the **** show that preceded them. And yes, I am no fan of Starmer either. This goes back to Boris IMO and his blatant disregard for rules and common decency. Like Trump (but to a lesser extent), he normalised bad behavior.

Its not new. This stuff has always happened since the dawn of time. Everyone is under more scrutiny as time moves on because there is not a closed shop of pals in charge of media anymore. As the internet has developed more and more of this is viewable and there are way more (growing by the day as well) non legacy outlets that are all out for their cut of the public's time.

So what used to be unseen as long as you could control the media, at which point you could also malign publications like Private Eye etc as uncredible sources now cannot be hidden for long at all.

So back then if you knew some secrets they were only useful if 1 of a few "credible" publications would publish, and even papers that were on the other side than the tip of they had been given often didn't publish things. But now they are competing for clicks with smaller operations as well one man shows that will state things so the big old beasts are as well.

Despite the constant "no-one scrutinising reform" statements the reality is they are more scrutinised than anyone, even government was 30 years ago. Its just that it gets lost in the noise because there is now so much out in the open. There is always an outlet happy to take that leak and immediately run with it!

Boris was more noticeable because it wasn't just his opposition that wanted him out, his own party wanted him out before he even got in. lol. So the boot got stuck in from all sides.

Even the most ardent libertarian wouldn't advocate for unregulated road traffic, nor for the sale of alcohol and drugs to children. Presumably you also approve of protecting children from pornography, or the elderly from exploitation by scammers and dishonest tradesmen etc.
    .

Regulation is a fact of life in all civilised societies, but it's no secret that there is always someone looking to profit from exploiting the weakness and vulnerability of their fellow citisens.
