The thing about groups of Muslims politely asked to leave their weapons in a mosque is astonishing to be honest. Like genuinely astonishing. And feeds into this whole "two tier" nonsense.

Funnily enough the main reason for the sudden increase in these boats isn't because of our immigration policies, but due to Brexit. As part of the EU we had a deal (returns agreement) that allowed us to send illegal immigrants back to the first EU country they travelled through. So there was no incentive for a migrant to sail over from France as they knew they'd be picked up upon arrival and soon be back in Greece, Italy, Spain etc. Upon leaving the EU we of course lost this deal. Brexit essentially meant we swapped the tracked and regulated import of Europeans for the import of non-Europeans who we know nothing about. Another Brexit benefit!
I just went on Middlesbrough Reddit and the asians were out to defend their mosque. White people had been stopping traffic and checking only white drivers could go through. I can’t see any blame on the Muslim population for a) being attacked and b) defending themselves.
What?! I'm not saying it is. What a strange comment. But we're presumably in agreement that people carrying weapons in public should be arrested for doing so rather than being politely asked to put them away?
Aren’t we also in agreement that we should ask all people to leave their weapons at home? Doesn’t seem two-tiered to me. Just sensible. These are not protests but witch hunts and people feel vulnerable.
Mate are you deliberately misinterpreting what I say or something? It feels like it. Yes people should leave weapons at home. If they take them out into the street then they should be arrested. Regardless of who they are.
By that logic, if someone was stopped and searched and found to be in possession of a weapon, you think the police should ask them to pop home and put it in the kitchen draw rather than arrest them? It is 100% two-tier policing and that video is an absolute embarrassment.

I think you are both looking at this as if the police weren’t already overworked with racist white hooligans smashing up mosques. If it was just some asians coming out with weapons then they would get arrested, but that isn’t how it works in times of crisis. The police don’t have the resources and they don’t want to stoke up a group already under attack. It would be two-tier policing if this wasn’t being instigated by another group with malign purposes who have committed violent acts already. Bring up two-tier when the muslims start showing up smashing churches.

I haven’t misinterpreted you. I think you are holding the asian community up to an unreasonable standard on this one. If someone threatened you, your family, your business and your place of worship, you might well react the same way as the muslims. And the police have no way to react apart from asking them not to. I think this is a lot of what-aboutery from people too insecure to admit this is 100% white english thugs kicking up **** and want asians to share some of the blame. The asians would not have weapons out if white people did not attack them. The police could deal with asians with weapons if white people weren’t out rioting.
Well you did actually. First you implied that I said it was only Muslims carrying weapons which is one of the most absurd things I've ever read on this thread. Then you said I was bringing up two tier when I clearly said it was a nonsense. And now you're pulling out the race card saying I hold Asians to a different standard This is exactly what I was talking about on Saturday; people's inability to debate sensibly on this issue has HUGELY played a part in why we are where we are. You're part of the problem. I don't believe violence should ever justify further violence. If a Muslim commits a terrorist attack that doesn't give people the right to attack a mosque or other Muslims. If racist ****s attack a mosque that doesn't give the worshippers the right to go out tooled up. If someone attacked me in my home then yes I would defend myself within my home. I wouldn't then grab a baseball bat or a machete and start patrolling the streets looking for people who look similar to the offenders. No different standards whatsoever. If you have an offensive weapon in public you should be arrested and charged with the offence that constitutes. No ifs, no buts.
I get what you're saying, but there's an element of what I was speaking about before in here, which is our tendency to self-flaggelate - it must be all the fault of the nasty white Brits, and no blame must be passed on to the Muslim people, we're just not being understanding enough. I know that's not what you're actually saying, but there's an element of that. I'd also avoid calling them the "asian community" as pretty much every asian I know hates being lumped into this. This is a specifically Muslim thing, no matter how much we'd like to avoid calling it so (see original point).
