As a Norwich supporter a football/politics analogy occurred to me. You can set out with good intentions of playing open, attractive football and concentrate on possession and attacking moves and get done 4-0. Alternatively you can play cautious, less attractive football and get a draw or a sneaky 1-0 win. Labour has gone for the former. Bold left wing agenda that you can't sell to the majority of voters, sadly it's going to be the 4-0. Whilst it's true that the media are largely hostile to Labour that's a fact of life you have to deal with. I remember 1997 when they portrayed Blair as Bambi about to get eaten by the real world. When that didn't work they tried "Devil eyes". It ended with a 160 seat majority. There are ways to counteract these campaigns but you do need a product that is fit for purpose. I notice that Rebecca Long-Bailey is currently being groomed for stardom after December 12. That will be the end of the party.
I saw that on Facebook, he piffled and paffled and wiffled and waffled and huffed and puffed and almost blew his own trousers off. He doesn’t like his children being mentioned does he?
Congratulations on being so environmentally responsible, it must take some effort. It would be great if everyone made more of an effort, however it is interesting that it has been spun that it is down to us the people to remedy this, however the biggest polluters are a handful of companies. For example imagine the emissions we could save if no one commuted or a lot of us didn't work but how fulfilling would that be. The biggest and knottiest problem is population growth. I would also add that it was the Tory Government that taxed renewables and subsidised fossil fuels (I am sure it was nothing to do with the Tory Lords that used to run BP...). Yes people need to make changes in diet etc., however policies can encourage change, such as plastic bag or frequent flyer tax.
Just received my election postal ballot here in Serbia. (yes I'm registered in the Cynon Valley in Wales) No Green candidate but it's ok, the Conservatives symbol is a tree! (and their candidate from Salisbury has "a background in financial services at JP Morgan) Well Morgan sounds Welsh innit?
Not sure if this is accurate but........ ‘direct quote from the leaked US trade negotiation documents: ‘The USA reserves the right to withdraw all trade, aid and communication upon the non-compliance of the UK to allow open discussions about the sale of all assets within and partnered with the National Health Service.’
