I saw this online yesterday, "apparently" the club kind of encourage it, and they have "safe-zones" where you're allowed to put flares on, under supervision.
We'd have to have specially trained stewards wielding the flares in an otherwise empty stand (the Barclay presumably), with no member of the public within 100 yards and play halted until the flares are safely extinguished .......
I don't think they even do it by Polish H&S standards. The person telling me said the fans wielding the flares have to do it, then duck under a banner (or similar), and change clothes so they police can't work out who did it. The stewards are all complicit with it, apparently.
I am disappointed this isn't a polish appreciation thread frankly Been waiting for an opportunity to bring up mr sheen up more months...
Can you imagine what the hell the away keeper must be thinking on his walk down to that end of the ground!
When I was in Turkey this summer there was a guy in one of the nightclubs standing on the bar setting off flares every 15 minutes or so!
On a serious note, I wonder how many folks who have adapted Norfolk UK as their home now get their football fix at the Deliadome?
if you read the story behind this, it was a protest by legia warsaw fans against uefa who made them close a stand for their champions league play off vs steau bucharest for racist behaviour in the last round. great protest but not good to hear about racist behaviour
Fair play. This is what annoys me about this country. Don't you dare attempt to create an atmosphere because you'll gravely offend someone, it's a football match if you don't like it go watch Rugby. There is a conspiracy to sanitise the game in this country, yet most of us fail to realise it.
