One interesting bit in this link is that, should we win on saturday, we will have more points than our eventual total last season. http://www.london24.com/sport/leagu...heffield_united_after_millwall_snub_1_1178510
I was looking at the points today. I'm might place a bet on MK Dons for the second automatic place. If they win their 2 games in hand over Sheffield United, they'd be a point behind them. If we beat United on Saturday, they could effectively be above them in the league. Been watching their highlights, and the Dons seem to be playing more convincing football than the long ball of Wednesday, and Huddersfield have drawn too many games (despite scoring a tonne of goals).
Talking of points the most any team has ever got in this division is 101 and that was Fulham. Does anyone think we could break this? We would need 45 more points so 15 wins from 21 games anyone? I certainly think it's possible and really can't see who can beat us atm or am I just living in a dream world?
You remember the thread where we all forecast our final points total? My forecast was a conservative/realistic 95 points. Since then we have played five league matches and are 4 points up on my forecasts, so my forecast total is now 99 points. Charlton Athletic v Oldham Athletic forecast 3 gained 1 Yeovil Town v Charlton Athletic forecast 1 gained 3 Leyton Orient v Charlton Athletic forecast 1 gained 0 Charlton Athletic v Brentford forecast 1 gained 3 Sheffield Wed v Charlton Athletic forecast 0 gained 3 I'll check back in after another five games.
I think its a good chance that we will beat the 101 mark, especially after the performances at Fulham and Wednesday showed we were value for our position.
So taking it one game at a time has gone out the window . I would live to predict a points total- but being a CAFC fan, anything is possible.
