During these transfer windows we are subjected to some pretty crap journalism to put it mildly, however this article takes the biscuit as being the most pointless I have to date!! It did make me laugh. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015...r-target-hugo-almeida-is-a-free-agent-again/? The Portuguese international cancelled his contract by mutual consent with Italian side Cesena. This summer saw QPR heavily linked with the free agent signing of Hugo Almeida. The Portuguese international, who has over 50 caps for his country, was a free agent after his contract with Besiktas expired in the summer. The Mirror reported in September that QPR were hoping to land a deal for the free agent, whilst also asserting he was a target for both West Ham United and Leicester City. Almeida, who had previously found success in Germany with Werder Bremen, eventually decided his future lay elsewhere. In October he signed a one-year deal with newly promoted Serie A side Cesena, ending any hope of him playing in England this season. But, guess what? If QPR are still interested they can now negotiate with him once again. Just under four months after signing for Cesena on a free, he has been released by Cesena, on a free. The club confirmed the news two days ago, stating on their official website: "A.C. Cesena communicates that this afternoon the contract between the Bianconero club and the Portuguese striker Hugo Almeida was rescinded consensually." Almeida managed to play just 10 games for the club, failing to score, so it is doubtful he would be of much use to QPR. Just as well that he is being heavily linked with a move back to Turkey with Gaziantepspor by Turkish paper Milliyet - as he would surely not be of much help to any of the Premier League's strugglers.
Sounds perfect - he should have fitness levels that leave him trailing in the wake of 10 year olds in the park and our competition for his signature is a team that sounds like the medical term for indigestion. It's Thursday so sign him up.
He can't get into a Cesena team that are this good?... http://uk.soccerway.com/national/italy/serie-a/20142015/regular-season/r27139/?ICID=TN_02_01_02
Just so as not to start a thread with another pointless article, I would like to draw attention to the fact that today is the penultimate Thursday in the January window!
