He hasn't had time to do much in depth training yet, it's mostly recovery and next match preparation.
Well done all, not great 2nd half, but we have a better look aboout us. 3 pts, top 6. On we go. Happy Townie here again.
Yes!!!! That'll do nicely. A place in the top six three games into the Paul Cook era. We have something to protect now, beating Pompey next Saturday could be very important.
It’s a good start and there are signs of the direction he wants to take us.Hope the injury to Downes isn’t serious.
At last some signs of hope. We’ll see where our destiny lies once the transfer market opens and a load of this bloated underperforming squad are shipped out. Judge, Nolan, sears. Reluctantly it might be time up for Bishop unless he’s paid a wage commensurate to his average contribution to team success.
So we can already start to see Cook's influence on the team and it looks like you are going to have to be a fit lad to play Paul's way. We were bright in the first ten minutes with quick one/two touch ball movement as well as closing down and competing for second balls. Paul has already made it clear that he likes a solid first eleven with only small changes made when needed. Obviously the team will have trouble executing his style for a full ninety minutes at the moment due to the high volume of games. It's easy for us to say 'well I go to work 5 days a week, what do you mean the players are tired?' but are any of us running 5-10 miles in 2 hours every few days, I doubt it. We will really start to see Paul's impact once he can get some proper training time with the boys. I don't think we'll be anywhere close to how he wants everything done by the end of the season but the improvements will be clearly tangible, pre-season will be where the big leaps in change of style will happen. It's all looking quite positive going forward but for now it's just a case of keep plugging away. First time in a while that I actually have confidence in a top six finish.
