The ban on our friends from over the border has been lifted.
Rest assured, any hint of any of their old tricks, and they will be gone permanently.

SN23, this also applies to you and your **** stirring, whether you're a friend of Mick's or not, so take this as a friendly warning SN. Wind your neck in on certain aspects.

    I thank you.

This is a shame if you ask me. Our forum doesn't need them, I'm not sure what they offer and I know if there are any positives in what they post these are massively outweighed by the wumming and antagonistic bilge they spew.
Those most keen to see them return to our board - KIO, SN23 for example - are more than able to keep in touch with them on the binners board, as I believe they have been doing.

The poll that was running about whether to reinstate them was overwhelmingly in favour of not letting them back when the binner's votes were excluded, which surely they must be, so I'm not entirely sure I understand this decision personally.

    Tony,

The original decision was to ban them for 3 weeks and then if they decided to come back they would abide by our rules.
To be fair to them though, I and the other mods actually had more hassle from our own board on here, than we did from the 2.
Others did try and stir up a bit on here, with threads to cause hassle.

If they do step out of line, they will immediately be banned - permanently.
However, if someone tries to stir things up by bad mouthing either of them, then that person will also be banned as well.
To me, that is just as bad as someone diving or play acting to get someone sent off.
If it happens to be one of our 'less than straight' posters, then so be it.

This is presumably why it's known as 'the business end of the season', Maestro? <whistle> :emoticon-0105-wink:

I am wholly supportive of the decisions you mods have made <ok>

I can see where Munky's coming from, but I think you had fixed a term of suspension and in the interests of fairness it's right to stand by that. Given the stipulations for allowing them to post again, endorsed by Ipswich fans who posted on the previous thread, I don't think there needs to be any concern as those problems will be simply sorted out with a permanent ban.

Personally, I like the Ipswich fans, all of them, when they're posting like normal people. So they're welcome IMO.

The decision should prove largely irrelevant as I believe both have sworn off the Norwich board anyway, but I don't think it's fair to move the goalposts once the ban was put in place.

With regards the poll, it gets into the tricky territory of how many people were voting to ban them permanently, or to uphold the 3 week ban.I think it's hard to discern that from the question.

I think it's clear that the mods were as fed up with the pair of them as many others, but as I've said I think it's important to stick by what we initially said. All 3 of us try to be pretty open about things, we don't want to come across as some dictatorship running our own personal fiefdom. That said, should they overstep the mark again, then they'll be terminated with extreme prejudice by our elite banhammer division.

Can I be the first to complain about their wumming again! It's not started yet, but as night follows day!

    Bah!

Well at least one provided soundbites loaded with misogynistic homophobic and racist overtunes, but all done as a joke! I hope the mods actually implement the conditions/rules laid down.

I think you all need to apologise to JWM for offending him. If not there is a chance he might not come back.
I am working on it though.

I agree with Rob and DH on this, as this board is part of a larger entity (ie. Not606 as a whole). To say that non-City fans are not welcome seems parochial in the extreme. This is not to excuse personal abuse on anybody's part, including our own members. I sometimes go on to other teams' boards to post, but not to be a WUM. It seems wrong to deny others that opportunity.

Other than offering the statement "because it's an open forum" - why does anyone "have to" go on a wind up at all?
Is it so difficult to talk reasonably and rationally, even to fans of other teams? I don't find it difficult, and indeed most do not have.
So why is it that some do, yet when contributing to their "own board" they are "normal"?

We've historically had a few wums, mainly from Premier league days - Reading and QPRcelona spring to mind. But 99% of that was on the match-day threads (several were averse to it being called the 'Delia Dome' and Canary Soccer's assorted Americanisms, as I recall)
But after the final whistle, they tended to melt away. Unlike the Portaloo Two, who seem to go out of their way to infest and/or derail every single thread, regardless of whether Ipswich are mentioned or not.

I'd suggest that my first paragraph is acceptable, where feelings inevitably run high before and during important matches - the second scenario, however is not. Shame it's been necessary, but credit to our mods for nailing their (and I'd suggest the majority of us on here) colours to the mast <ok>

Phew tough one this. Being a liberal in the truest sense of the word I do feel awkward invoking bans on potential contributors, but I have to say that the past three weeks has been a much more positive experience. It is not the fact that I do not want to see outside input because it could and indeed should be part of a healthy debate, the problem was that most threads were basically hijacked and that is out of order. At the end of the day they have their own board (I think!) and therefore should treat ours with a little more respect. The 'Unshackle thread' was in my view absolutely shocking.
