United fan here in peace, i hope you finish above Arsenal this season, i can't stand the Ozil w(a)nkfest.
Just had a quick browse, there must be a few raw penises (peni?) over there at the moment. Great player though
I think they're right to be excited though tbf. Its like i've been saying for weeks about Spurs, just because it isn't your weakest position does not mean you shouldn't strengthen there. You should be looking to strengthen/improve every position at all times regardless of its strength. If the opportunity to sign a player like Ozil is there then they'd be absolutely mental to turn it down just because they needed a DM/GK/CB slightly more
He's a fantastic player to be fair so it's understandable for them to be jizzing themselves. I've always been a fan of Ozil, especially since he alone was the difference in me getting 2nd place and £200 from my local bookies in the last world cup fantasy league they done. His only flaw from whenever I've seen him is his fitness, does seem to tire around the 75 min mark and with the Prem being a lot more fast paced, I'm hoping as a Spurs fan he'll find it hard to adapt to the speed. I have been laughing at some of them on Twitter though, one said "£42.5m is a bargain" which I thought was hilarious, no player is a bargain at that amount. One said he's better than all our 7 players combined... I mean yes he's good but you'd think they just got Ronaldo, not Ozil.
I don't think anyone has denied he's and a great signing but it's the lack of other signings that people gave questioned about Arsenal. Time will tell whether signing Ozil is enough to push them forward to winning trophies and challenging for the league again but I'd guess that it doesn't. Of course signing him strengthens them but so would us signing another top striker. When you strengthen where you are already strong it doesn't improve you as much as it would have if you spent the money in an area that needs it. Willian's sort of an extreme example of it. He's given Chelsea an extra option and improves them but if they'd spent that money on a top centre back they'd be stronger. Much stronger, infact. At the moment Chelsea have 4 options that can play centre back. One is old and picking up regular injuries, one was played in midfield last season because he became a liability in defence and one is the first choice right back meaning that if he's moved there as a last resort they are weakened in two positions. You could probably argue the same for us at left back too but I'm quite happy we're showing faith in our young English talents.
Yes, i know that. But you shouldn't forego strengthening a strong area just because its already strong.
still overlooking the unproven bit,i'm waiting to see if he can cut it on a cold winter night in Stoke or Hull
You should if you have a limited budget and can spend it elsewhere. Sorry but I can't explain it any better than I already have.
Because one of our key problems last season was the ability to create clear goal scoring chances in games where the team sit back. Cazorla started to be man-marked out of games to stop our creativity. By pushing Cazorla out left and playing Ozil down the middle we have more than one top quality creative outlet which should help solve this issue for us. He is exactly the kind of player we needed and for a long while a lot of us Arsenal fans where saying we wanted another creative midfield player who can play centrally and out wide (Isco was the name thrown around most). Plus you don't turn down an opportunity to sign a player like Ozil. That isn't to say we didn't need to strengthen in other areas as well though. I think we did well bringing in Viviano and Flamini who will be good squad players and gave us some more depth at DM and GK, but we really needed to add a striker. Incredibly pissed off with Mourinho pulling the plug on the Ba deal last minute just because we signed Ozil. ****.
Wilshere hasn't had a run of games for about 2 years now and Rosicky is a back up player. Our only creative midfielder is Cazorla and he's played out wide most of his time at Arsenal
We spent less than half our budget on Ozil. It wasn't that we couldn't afford to strengthen other areas but that deals fell through. e.g. Ba at the last minute. You don't turn down the chance to sign a player like Ozil because you think AM isn't your weakest area...
Really? Do you guys suddenly not rate Rosicky or think Cazorla wasn't brilliant playing through the middle for you last season? The whole reason Cazorla and Ramsey have been shunted out to the left wing at times is because you're so weak in that position, let alone how upfront where you're so thread bare you can't afford to lose Bendtner.
I'm happy the goons have'nt strengthened, where they should have.Ozil won't have any effect.if they are shipping goals as well as scoring them, and as i've said sooner or later that will happen, like last season
Your missing the point mate. It was a clear and obvious fact to anyone who regularly watched Arsenal last season that when Cazorla had a quiet game or was man-marked we struggled to create the chances we needed to make wins. Ozil should solve this issue.
