I for one like the red shirt, and Tonto mentioned that six of the current best eleven teams in the Premiership play in red shirts. That's six of the best eleven teams in the country...the table does not lie!
Interestingly, when the Welsh shirt became black and various other colours, no-one seemed to get all uptight.....and we have played in red as Wales for ever!!!! Longer than Cardiff played in Blue. Why not go back to those funny hoops from the first team? Or let´s go back to that time when our shirts were the only ones without a sponsor logo on them....coz no-one wanted to be the sponsor.
We understand all that Frankfurterblue, but my whole life Cardiff were blue, and we had a great big Bluebird on the badge. The changes were made without consultation, and basically without any attempt at conciliation.
I am not a regular at the city matches these days, but went to see Everton last week, the singing was amazing. The one thing that I noticed and was irritated by, is when they are singing..... you'll never notice how much I love you....it's you'll never know dear how much I love you ...get a life!
They are playing for Cardiff City Dai. Isn't that enough? Are you really running that brain in for an idiot?
Temple...the same has been true of my whole life...and frankly speaking, you must be a very old bugger if your life has been longer than mine!!!!! But I don't want to start a willy contest on that. My point is that it is of little import in the final event........the club is the same and the history is the same....despite the Swansea muppet utterings. I would have expected consultation took place with directors at board meetings, who represent the owners. Maybe, when we have some shares, we can take part in consultations...otherwise we are customers. unfortunate customers whom are locked in by history, but customers all the same
Too me and i 22, been watching my local team since as far back as i can remember and its Blue , away games the crowd is still blue and no problem ...................................hope and think things will change once we have survived our first season in the Prem , after all we were a sleeping giant!!!,...........................;O)
Most under 18's are wearing the red shirt, and also lots and lots of the older generations, personally i only wear the 1992/93 blue shirt on special occasions, i have no problem with the change to Red at all, i wear the red scarf Mr Tan kindly dished out, and i think you will find the longer we play in red the more people will change, what i cannot understand is the anger some people have on this subject. When we were in the 3rd and 4th divisions back in the early 80's if a benefactor came along then and offered to put in millions but wanted a colour change i would imagine that the vast majority would have taken anything then as we were dire, but still Cardiff City FC, the last 10 years or so have seen us on the Up and Up and most people aged 24 and under can only ever remember relatively good times, hence the opposition now, back then the crowds on average were less than 5000 now we are in the 20 thousands, its all relative and for the time being it is here to stay. So get used to it, as for the away support i think you will find as the season goes on and people like me start going to the away games again the colours will change. It amazes me when JH comments that the away support mainly wear blue, as if its some kind of badge of honour. They will also be the ones who will moan up because i got 2 or 3 away tickets for the big games away. But let me tell you this. I was going away week in week out during the bad times and now i think I and many others from those days deserve a bit of the good times as well, whether i have a Red shirt/scarf or not.
You can never change or take away history but VT has shown you can influence the future. If that involves us playing in red and we stay in the Prem then so be it. I cannot understand those who say they would prefer us to be in the 2nd Division (or worse) and still be in blue. We are still the Bluebirds ffs. The bottom line is VT saved this club and has since facilitated our elevation to the hughest level of football in this country. Give the guy some credit - and some slack.
Red shirt & badge are vile. It still rankles every time I see them in it. The worst for me was when we had the trophy presented after the Bolton game and it was all red - spoiled it for me. The seats will all be red next season. I'll still wear my blue shirt though.
Nin, I have no problem with anyone who wants to continue wearing blue and, as I said, we will always be the Bluebirds. However, the future is where we are going and the past is where we have been. The past can't be changed but VT helped change our future and we need to look forwards not backwards. I was told by someone quite high in the hospitality side of the club that the seats would be red this season but that has not happened. It could well be that the seats in the new Ninian Upper Tier will be red for next year though.
Totally agree. Promotion was totally ruined by the rebrand. Wait for the name change, it will be interesting to see how the collaboraters defend that. A friend of mine reckons we'll soon be playing home games in kuala lumpar and beamed back to CSS.
