I agree. If you see that certain formation or selection of players isn't working well why don't make a change. I don't see the reason for all the stubbornness, and obviously Taarabt and Hoilett can do a lot of good for us but he keep them on the bench in a home game
It's the discipline that worries me, that and the signing of knackered players and half the squad out injured after 6 games
Especially at home you start with hoillet and taraabt not bring them on! I firmly have no faith in Hughes and believe he is the wrong man for Qpr. He has to go!!
I'd like to think MH just might see that we have to be more offensive. But I expect he'll start with Park and SWP at West Brom, with Adel, Hoillet and Cisse all on the bench probably.
I'm new here. I know little about how much points we had this time last year. I'm just saying that there's no need to play both SWP and Park on our home game where we should dominate, and they can do little in attack.
He is so conservative. Someone said last week he plays for a draw and then blames the players when they lose. Whoever said that was spot on
I definitely do not agree. Teams have been ****e and bottom of the league at Xmas and turned things around. A knee jerk reaction, sacking Hughes and bringing in another expensive manager to tell us how shocking our infrastructure is and how we need TF to pump another £20 million in offloading Hughes' purchases to bring in his own is not the way forward. At some point we will get a slice of luck and a fluky win and then we'll see a dramatic improvement. So far the only really disappointing results have been against Swansea and tonight against the Hammers. We have played Chelsea, Spurs, City and Norwich and could not realistically expect to get more than the 2 points we did get from those fixtures. So why the panic? If that is what you truly believe we need, then bring back Flavio. Hughes did get it right with his substitutions and even he could see the change. Wright-Phillips will be dropped eventually in favour of Hoilett. Park was a mouth-watering prospect and certainly has not lived up to expectations but it is only six games so far. There are still 32 to go this season. That's all. Of course it remains to be seen whether he feels the need to revert to his preferred formation or accepts now that players with flair need to be chosen as well as players who can retain possession and make 5 yard passes all afternoon.
That's a load of crap. 'if you're not behind Hughes you're a fan of flav' what a load of rubbish Did you honestly think after 6 games we would be bottom with 2 points? Really? If you did then did you think that would be acceptable because I don't. We were ****e tonight and we all know it. Hughes got the players and tactics wrong and oh yes another red card. Then he reluctantly brings adel on for the only high point in the match And you contend that we should stick with this? Wanting Hughes out doesn't mean I want a revolving door policy rather just a manager who knows what he's doing!
Hughes has got to go but with his huge backroom team he's put the owners in such a difficult position. I said after the Swansea game that was the worst tactical howler of a performance I've ever seen but today was up there. Everyone I was with before the game said that Park and SWP would create nothing and they didnt. Hoilett dropped for Swp? When they had the type and calibre of full backs is a unforgiveable error on so many levels Hughes will continue to make tactical errors and we cant afford that.
You are right Wubba. He seemed to make the subs as you say "reluctantly". Adel and Hoillet at least should have started. Diakite will be great if Hughes or the next man can get him to calm down on a yellow.
Just because you don't like the comparison between your position and Flavio's does that make it wrong? What precisely is the difference between the two of you? You both seem to want instant results. What will you say when the next manager fails tolive up to his reputation and your expectations. For the record, what I expected from the first six games was wins against Swansea and West Ham, draws against Norwich and Chelsea and the rest defeats. How about you? Be honest here.
It's games like this that I wish our manager didn't 'do' tactics, just played our best players and asked them to express themselves. What's the point in tactics when the players don't suit the formation? With our midfield, it's like he's trying to fit square pegs in round holes and that's just not necessary. We can do better. Is it that difficult to find a manager who can get the basics of team selection right? It's like a curse at the club.
Perfectly acceptable to want and expect that, but we havent got anywhere near those results. i dont know if getting rid of MH now is the right thing, but something needs to change very quicly..IMHO
I am not sure if we should out Hughes yet but its not only 6 games. Last season we stayed up by the skin of our teeth, and it was due to luck in the end. Also no away wins in 10 months that's poor.
I really want Hughes to succeed and I certainly don't want him out yet but when the team came out after half time set up the same way I did have to ask myself if, perhaps, he had gone mad. What was particularly depressing was the feeling we've gone backwards since the spurs and Chelsea games.
I think you speak for me there wubs. I hate to do it as I feel like a bit of a traitor. But what you say is true. Hughes is either clueless or he is pandering to the powers that be. ie Starting Park.
