    on Saturday.

Got a letter from the club suggesting that due to the likely pitch invasion post match the players will enter the middle of the above to receive their well deserved acclaim and cheers.

Have they done this in the past (talking about the 70s/80s?)

Without wanting to upset anybody on here, I don't really get the need to go on the pitch. We can celebrate in the stands and they can walk round the pitch and take the applause.

And I realise I'm begininning to sound just like my dad!

I think a pitch invasion is a very spontaneous thing (e.g. Leicester). In a funny sort of way, the match on Saturday is sort of quite planned now. If the players do go into the stand, who gets kicked out to make way? Also, for those of who are going to be sitting in that stand further along, the view isn't exactly going to be great. Do I sound old too?!

Certainly went on the pitch the night we beat Wrexham in 82. I think GT and the players appeared in the directors' box of the old main stand, but could be wrong.

As one who sits in the middle of the SEJ I think we can find a bit of room for them...

I was almost knocked over the wall in front of the Family Enclosure in 82 when someone jumped over it to run on the pitch. Luckily, my Mum was holding me.

On Saturday, I'll be in the SEJ, the end nearest the Rookery.

We were certainly on the pitch the evening we were promoted the first time from the old Div. 3 in 1969 (and I believe also after the game against Walsall when we went up from Div. 4 in the Holton season 1960).

We were also on the pitch doing the knees-up at Gillingham, Barrow, Tranmere and one or two others after the game through the season. At Gillingham we were so quick to get on the pitch (in January if I remember correctly) that the players had to walk around us to get off the pitch......

Bournemouth too if I remember rightly - after spending the whole match bouncing in that old wooden stand they had then. I remember the Gillingham game well - I thought we had only won 4-0, having missed one of the goals - a local yokel took exception to me for some reason & we spent a good few minutes rolling around the terracing punching each other.

And yes, that win at Barrow - great Xmas present that was. Danced all over the pitch after the game - still pissed from the four hour pre match session in the working men's club just up the road....
