Chaps (and ladies) For anyone that was lucky enough to be at the game last night, could you give a brief rundown of the players' performances and a match rating. Would make for interesting reading. I understand Corkand Lallana were immense as always.
Davis - 9 Richardson - 8 Fonte - 6 Seaborne - 5 Harding - 6 Guly - 6 Hammond - 7 Cork - 9 MOTM Lallana - 9 Lambert - 8 Connolly - 8 Schneiderlin - 7 Fox - 7 The back four looked shaky at times but going forward, we were brilliant. It was a brilliant game, especially in the second half as Ipswich came straight at us and the atmosphere was really intimidating. I thought in the second half, Seaborne and Harding struggled to cope with Emmanuel-Thomas (who on his day is far too good for this league). Richardson played yet ANOTHER blinder. Cork was outstanding as were almost all the attacking players. Hopefully, we can keep this up for a bit longer and when we do lose we mustn't get into a pattern of it. Being pessimistic, I'm still just hoping for a play off push though.
Davis - 10 - Ipswich must have been wondering who they let slip through their ranks. Some great saves in the first half, although should really have come and dealt with the second town goal. Super, super Kelv. Harding - 10 - Perhaps our weak link, caught out positionally once or twice, wont be long until Fox takes his place as far as I can see. Richardson - 10 - An absolute cube of stackedness. Dominated in the air, on the ground, got forward. Their players didn't really stand a chance as the minute they got near him he smashed them. Fonte - 10 - Top marks for his free kick which he passed out of play. Other than that majestic, bullied PorkChops and oozed class. Always played it out from the back, through the majestic midfield and up to the scintillating front men. Total football. Jose Fonte babbbyyyy Seaborne - 10 - Born again hard for me, cant remember him losing a header, played it out along the floor nicely and when he hoofed it, it always found the Lambs head. Lallana - 100 - Absolute majestic display. Skinning people for fun, flicks, runs, finishes, 2 goals 2 assists. Took the piss and really looked like he was just having fun. He dribbles it left, he dribbles it right, Adam Lallana, makes Messi look sh1te. Gully - 10 - dominated going forward and defensively, great work for Connollys goal. Again, looked a different class and offered power and pace. Cork - 10 - for me he was joint best player on the park. Put up with Bowyers anti-football nasty talentless tactics well, and in fact owned him most of the time, as Chopra came back, he also took the p1ss out of him. Never looks like he is going to lose the ball, wins it, shields it, picks his passes. What a class, class act, and is only going to get better. Deano - 10 - as usual didn't take any sh1t, got stuck in, also drove forwards well, won headers, basically did what it says on the tin, competed and drove the team forwards. Lambert - 10 - lovely to see him scoring, and scoring non-Lambert goals too. Can only remember him losing one header all match, and it was scary the ease with which he could casually back peddle and win every single ball in the air. An absolute colossus performance in the air, as well as use of the ball on the deck. He does it every week but this week got the goals to reward. he stands at nearly 6ft 3 rickie, rickie, he'll take us to the premier league ricky ricky, he gets the ball he takes the p1ss he wears the shirt of matt le tiss, ricky lambert southamptons goal machine, na na na nan na na na naan a, he gets the ball he takes the piss hell wear the shirt of matt le tiss rickie lambert southamptons goal machine Connolly - 10 - some of his first touches were Premiership class, balls into his feet that he just flicked first time out to Guly or Lallana, really really sharp and class. Makes Chopra and company look like the lower league dross they are. Top scorer in the league and we hope he stays fit, and can keep his place following the £6m signing of Jay Rod. Spiderman - 10 - what a cheeky through ball for the 4th.
