Well you have me on the MLS one as i have no idea how that works, i was on about NFL as in American Football.

As for the best/worst teams scenario, i think it was the steelers a few years back, they were on a terrible run, and would have finished last, and 1 OJ Simpson was in the draft for the year after, they won their last 2 games, and the fans went mental, as they didnt finish last, so couldnt draft OJ Simpson.

But pretty sure that can work the other way, a team is 1-9 with 6 games to go, they just dont try and finish 1-15 and get the best draft picks, and as they are in College football already, they are well known, its not like Mcreachan for Chelsea/Noble for us where they are pretty unkown in the grand scheme of things, they are already well up there and are excellent for their college teams.

and yeah the franchise thing i hate, they get another offer from another city and they just upsticks and move (doesnt happen often, but it does happen) be like one of us moving to milton keynes lol

The worst thing is that the league commissioners are the biggest crooks of them all, and team ownership is just one big club in which the commissioner for whatever reasons they like can choose who can own a team, if he deems them appropriate to relocate, etc. At the end of the day, it's all about the owners and league making as much money as possible, usually at the expense of the paying fans. Obviously all professional sports are like that to one degree or another, but the franchise system really exacerbates the problem. I guess that league power is another reason players don't have the same power they do in football...not that they can complain; at the end of the day, the players, along with league bigwigs, and top teams are making money hand over fist.

EDIT: Oh! as for MK, it's the worst "city" I've ever been to (and that's saying something as my hometown is only a couple hours from Detroit, Buffalo, and Cleveland, but on the Canadian side of course), and I just hope one day Wimbledon jumps over them in the league, just like SV Austria Salzburg one day surpassing Red Bull Salzburg

Talking about league commissioners and the hierarchy being the biggest crooks, does the name Blatter come to mind?
