Why all the caustic comment against so called 'plastics'or part timers as those of us at BP use to call them? They have been around in all sports for as long as I can remember and if you are a genuine regular then you got to know other like minded souls as you saw them week in week out. At times my sanity could be questioned as I stood on a lonely Bunkers Hill in foul weather with a few other drownded rats watching a dire game at night. So whats it to be more empty seats and a few less plastics or a sell out and a few more false so called life long supporters?
I think the anti plastics mainly complain about them taking seats away from regular attendees in the big games.
I think its because some people need to be angry at other people all the time or need to feel superior to others. All these people have in their lives is football, and they revel in "being there when we was ****", these "Plastics" make them feel less special, a bit like the sad bastards who claim to be fans of a new band, but when they get successful, claim they've changed/sold out etc. Fans come in all different shapes, sizes and levels of commitment, we should celebrate that.
I'm fairly tolerant of plastics from Hull who come out and support City for Wembley etc, its how we'll sell 32,000 tickets, its how we'll eventually extend the KC, we mobilise mates and WAGS, so long as they are respectful of our real supporters history. I'm totally intolerent of plastics from Hull who faux-support top 4 sides from their armchairs and bar stools, whilst rubbishing City at every opportunity, yet never attending games in Liverpool or Manchester etc.
What I never understood is why the plastic fans impacted on the 'real' fans getting tickets. Surely the 20,000 or so core fans are season ticket holders anyway? And if the ones who aren't season pass holders were to buy tickets, id like to think they have the sense to get them in advance rather than pissing about deciding whether it's worth going just to sit next to somebody who only started going in 2006 instead of 1956.
The two junior tigers have been coming with me on and off for 3 seasons. Season one about 4 times Last season about 10 times This season they are pass holders And want a pass next season They have become HULL CITY mad. Everyone has to start sometime. =========== I don't like those born in HULL that support man u ..Liverpool...Chelsea etc. And slag off HULL CITY. .
Ah yeah, agree with this. Although I've never understood people who support clubs from cities they probably couldn't point to on a map. Possibly sums up the problem with the plastics label. Some see it as these arseholes, some see it as fair weather fans, some see it as people who just fancy a nice day out to see some football.
This week I was accused on here of being a 'Plazzy', I have been a supporter since about 1949, all typical nonsense.
A synthetic material made from a wide range of organic polymers such as polyethylene, PVC, nylon, etc., that can be moulded into shape while soft, and then set into a rigid or slightly elastic form.
If it wasn't for bandwagon jumpers we'd still be playing in front of 8,000 in the bottom division. But it just annoys me when you get all the top 4 fans coming out the woodwork when we have some success.
