Arsenal finish 3rd, Spurs finish 4th after Newcastle slip up in their last 3 games. It's the Champions League final. Who do you want to win?? Chelsea so Spurs don't get Champions League - Preventing the rivals from competing and confining them to Thursday nights, but having to watch the glee of Chelsea Bayern / Real so Chelsea don't win the Cup, keeping their hands from the crown, but meaning Spurs are back in the limelight Tis a connundrum!!
I can envisage very few acceptable scenarios that allow Chelsea to win the CL !! Your scenario is not one of them. Spurs being in the CL is far less a gut wrencher than Chelsea actually winning the thing.
Hmmm, Chelsea winning it would be a gut wrencher but I think Spurs missing out on CL revenue would put another nail into their coffin since their capitulation. If they went on to lose Harry and a number of key players I can only see that as a good thing. I'm used to seeing Chelsea in the top 4 but I strongly dislike the Spuds doing well too... argh, as you said there's no good outcome there. Cuuuuuuurm on the Barcodes and Bayern/Real!
Both are equally good and bad... Chelsea winning the CL after the Spuds finish in top 4 would be extremely funny however!
It would be close. It depends how much spuds need cl footie. Their wage bill has exploded so I would suspect if they dont get cl footie its financial trouble (aka the harry effect) for the spuds
I didn't mean financial troubles per say, just that at the end of the year I see 'arry + 1/2 players leaving. Throw in a lack of CL football and I envision another 1/2 will be on their way. Try attracting key players without that CL revenue/appeal and it's going to be very tricky for them to get back to this seasons standard in the immediate future. ... shame.
If Chelsea win the Champions League and Newcastle finish 4th, I will probably take a turn for the worst and slip into a coma.
Frankly I really don't ( much ) care what the others do just as long as we get 3rd.I'm not focused on the rest, just us. If we get 3rd then we can consolidate over the summer, persuade RvP to stay and build a winning team for the next and coming seasons.
if it was Arsenal trying to get 4th and Chelsea threatening to take the place via the cup win then i would wish for Arsenal to get it...it is another pathetic rule by a pathetic organisation....just like they reward a failing team by entering them into the Europa league,which belittles the teams alredy in there...they will also belittle that hard work,graft and struggles either one of us or Newcastle put in and went through with the aspiration of getting 4th only to find that it is meaningless and does not exhist any more...and all that after 38 games.
I think it would be Chelsea having to play a qualifier, rather than whoever finishes 3rd. But like stated above, us 3rd, Newcastle 4th and Chelsea losing the final would be ideal. There is no way that I want the Russians toy to be the 1st London club to win the CL.
Yeh. Now I deffo want chelsea to lose the final. Even if we come 5th I dont want them to win it. I wanted them to knock out barca to bring the barca/messi lovers down a peg or two that is all. Barca are the kings are anti football (cheating and diving - which is the real anti football). Also I get bored watching barca just pass it around the box. When they have 800 passes that is fine. But not when they 790 of those passes are simple 2 yard passes sideways. Not enjoyable to watch.
