Photo ID

I thought I had done a topic on this thread before but cannot find it. I'm wondering if anyone can clarify the situation with the new photo id?

The reason I ask is last season if myself or my son could not make a game, we would give our ticket away for FREE to someone. Bearing in mind the ST's have already been paid for in full £700 (+admin and cost of photo id) and it introduces a companion for the day, to the delights of lower league football.

However, it appears reading around on other sites that this id maybe checked at the turnstiles this season as the tickets are not transferable.

My dilemma is that my son cannot make the Bristol City league one game on the 31st August. So I had someone in mind to offer his ticket too, I hasten to add again for free. I am concerned that this may now not be possible if new rules are being implemented. Also due to the high volume of ST's sold going by the clubs own statements, this could possibly lead to a lesser atmosphere during some 'unattractive' games in my opinion if such rules were implemented. Basically the law of averages will rule a percentage of empty seats under such a policy.

I just wish the club would give some clear transparency to ST holders on the situation before we all find out in due course. You only have to look around other sites and comments previously on twitter that is a topic of contention. I hope my fears are unfounded, it would just be nice and respectful if the club could apply a statement accordingly via the official website.

    Thoughts...

brb - I knew we had discussed the matter.( 22.4.2013 ) The general opinion is that the Club will tell us that the tickets are not transferrable - but in practise I would doubt that the photographs will ever be checked - unless, for example an adult tried to use a childs ticket.

I have yet to send mine in via email as requested by the club, however they don't say much about what they want.
Does it have to be a Passport style photo or can it be just a normal style photo?

Looks like you are having the same problem as me, posting double for some reason.

I expect it was because the timing of your posts creating and posting crossed, they were at 1.50 - 1.51pm. I will keep an eye on the situation to see if it worsens. Remember to back out of the leave message if it comes up. Close the tab and then yes to leave. Don't attempt to post again it will already be there, sometimes with a time delay.

I gave them a call before purchasing back in May; I raised my concern that my girlfriend might not make the Tuesday night games which might not make the purchase cost effective. I was told that, whilst it's not really club policy, they would print a ticket for the seat if I rang in in advance.

I personally wouldn't risk trying to get through the gate. Ring up in advance and they may print you a ticket for that seat to provide to someone who you wish to take your place.

Well done & thanks Damo666 - I will give this a go if the occasion arises - with the sort of luck I have I expect that the photo will be examined if my son can't use his season ticket

Damo666 - that has to be the most ideal and sensible solution I have read anywhere. Whether it be club policy or not, it has been customary practice by ST holders to transfer tickets for matches they cannot make beyond their personal circumstances. As in my situation, I am not looking for any personal gain or compensate, it would just be a free offer as companionship to avoid an empty seat. After all we are supposed to be a family friendly club. It's not friendly if we start using such means as ID cards, which I have previously elsewhere voiced strongly against to prevent those transfers. All football clubs can paint it up with any excuses they so wish why ID cards are enforceable, however, to me it just seems pure mean if the rules are enforced strictly. Hopefully your comment offers the all round fair solution for both parties, club and supporter. Thanks.
