    Todays Daily Mail is reporting that Steve Bruces' first signing will be Emile Heskey, hope it is true as it puts that one too bed.

    Why is everyone so obssessed with Emile Heskey?

    He has never been & never will be a Sunderland player. He hasn't even ever been mentioned by Martin (other than in the lazy cak press) as a possible target for him. Not once has MoN mentioned him or spoken about him publically.

    He was never going to come to us at any time? At 37 he is no longer an EPL standard footballer although I still maintain, he is also not as bad a footballer as some would make out and I would have loved to have him to replace Quinny when he retired.Said so at the time as well.

    Heskey was a very underrated player when he was younger. Sure, he was never prolific but every other aspect of his game was top notch.

    I was thinking similar at first.

    Then realised Heskey would miss the opening, while Bramble ain't up to much at the rear.
