Maybe you disagree but how can Plymouth sack Reid for not getting results when they hardly have any players and they don't pay the ones they got... Wat a joke!

Outrageous decision, Plymouth were lucky to have Peter Reid.

My reaction is exactly the same as you Peeps above. The guy is as good as they're going to get. Perhaps they want to try an ambitious, young, up n'coming newbie, who is basically cheaper. I don't know. It's their club, and they've made plenty of wrong decisions so far, why not another..?

I honestly just don't like to see south coast clubs failing. I want a strong south coast presence in the leagues.

Hasn't Reid not been paid for months or at all either as he told the club to keep the money to help them out.

He's also been paying bills for PAFC out of his own pocket. A remarkable decision from one of the worst things ever to happen to football,

Quite surprised to see bookies offering odds on Paul Wotton to replace him though!

Absolutely bizarre. Paul Wotton might not be a bad shout, and within their "price range".

The board should be on bended knees thanking him for being their manager. This is on par with Di Canio's decision to loan out Clarke. Stick around Pete there just might be a job for you at Swindon soon.

He sold his FA Cup medal to help to pay for the electricity bills..........and then they sack him. Sorry, but the people in charge deserve all they get now. Sadly that also means the poor fans will be resigned to the same fate.

I have great sympathy for Peter Reid and the long suffering fans of Plymouth Argyle. Hope they turn it round soon but sadly I think they are doomed to go out of the league this season. This decision will only make things worse I'm sure.

It's another sorry football story. For me, the worse aspect is how the FA and Football League, yet again, do absolutely nothing.

The FA are partly to blame by having Plymouth as a world cup host city for the bid. That attracted the original crooks to the club in the hope of a windfall from property development at the club. The FA should never have strung them along when they... 1) Knew that Plymouth was a bad option for the South/South West for a hundred different reasons. 2) They knew they would never win the bid anyway.

When I read the FA are spending £3m a year to subsidise womans professional football (where despite free tickets, the average attendance is 300), but wont' spend a penny on either paying wages of players at clubs in trouble or helping out supporters clubs, it annoys me.

The likes of Risdale should have been banned from football long ago. He's only at Plymouth for what he can get out of it. He's another one like Peter Storrie.

People were saying in an earlier thread about how players tend not to be Loyal. It just goes to show Clubs can be equally un-loyal too. Surely this is one club where you would have expected them to respect loyalty. With what has been happening to the club over the last couple of years and certainly since Peter Reid has been there, is it no wonder they cannot get a decent result if the players cannot rely on the money coming in at the end of the month? Is it time the football league stepped in to stop this kind of thing? Making club and manager see out their contracts or their remaining contact paid up if they leave prematurely, for what ever reason?
