You are right Jonny - what a backlash in the comments area from fans. The groundswell of anti Bates feeling is gathering pace rapidly. Its not just Lorimer though, its time to shut down Ben Fry and his propaganda machine Yorkshire Radio. Fry is an idiot and his chairman "interviews" are just simply laughable. Fry will also feel the wrath of Leeds fans when Bates goes, and rightly so!!!

Lorimer is a false prick and I wil happily meet with him to let him know my opinion of him. His pathetic false English accent makes me squirm everytime he puts it on, the man if from Dundee ffs.
Not being funny, but how do you get access to the Pavillion & what happens there? Does it help that I've got a ST? I might go in early & hurl some abuse at him. Or would my ST be at risk for being a naughty boy? (or would I get sent out on loan?).
He sounds camp with his hybrid accent. Although I doubt it's faked - probably just borne from decades of living in Yorkshire and his Scottish accent slowly fading away. He's done well to be fair - my mate moved to Australia and had picked up a full blown Aussie twang by the time I next saw him about a year later!
Scottish people never lose their accents, it's a fact and anyone who tries to is simply pathetic. Eddie Gray has lived in Yorkshire for longer than Lorimer and yet he's more Glaswegian than ever. The worst "pretend" accent was Sheena Easton when she moved from Lanarkshire to Hollywood and put on this sad American accent, which she still puts on for tv when she wants. I happily watched her get pelted with plastic bottles when she tried that pish in an open day concert in Glasgow in 1990.
Is it buggery. Anyone can lose or gain a new accent if they spend long enough somewhere else. It's called convergence. A way for people to settle in as part of their new community by adopting that new group's linguistic identity. You might even notice yourself subtly doing it by strengthening your accent if you went to, say, Glasgow, or weakening it if you went to England or the Scottish Borders.

Utter pish, it is only a ****er that loses their original accent (in adulthood). If you have a deep sociological issue that perhaps means you need to feel you fit in or you wish to lose what has been in the past, then I can perhaps see why some people choose to lose their real voice and fake a new one, but the reality is that Scottish people don't lose their accents and never have done. I laugh at those who try to and Lorimer is one of the worst ever, but he has his reasons whatever they may be.
