I've had quite a day. This afternoon I went to the funeral of 30 year old woman, the little sister of a school friend. She died from cervical cancer. Rip Torie. Then at 2140, my little sister, who was at school with torie, gave birth to her first baby, a girl called Ava. For me, the recent events at our club have been put firmly into perspective.
Commiserations and congratulations mate. Without a doubt, as much as we all love this club and football in general it is, at the end of the day, a game and nothing in comparison to life and death. However, your team is a part of who you are and when you see it being treated badly it still hurts and angers you in a similar, but obviously reduced, way that seeing a family member or close friend being hurt. In my opinion anyway.
What a day for you mate Nothing of major interest has happened here Sorry for Torie please log in to view this image
As the title suggests this does put things in perspective. We really have nothing to be worried about here.
Quite a day for you Woody, sad to hear of such a young victim of that awful disease. Three years ago I lost a great friend and work colleague aged 32 to ovarian cancer, it does give you time to reflect what is really important in life. I have since regularly supported the Eve Appeal. Congrats on the new arrival...
A true life experience Woody: sweet and sour in one pot. (Another example of why I think Rollercoaster picked the most appropriate name.) On the bright side, Ava's a guarantee that Torie's memory will endure. You have my deepest sympathy Woody.
Agree with all that's been said. We've all been fretting over events at the club, points deduction, board room unrest, and so on. Then Woody's story puts it all firmly into place. There's nothing more important than family & friends!
