I recall Neil saying that he was a bit of a rough diamond and it would be some time before he would get up to speed. Less of an issue with Ferdinand and Barton coming in after (I think they said he could play def mid too) so if he amounts to anything then it's a massive bonus.
Can he do either of them well? I doubt it. I'd rather have a good player who can only play one position than an all around player who's all around shiyte

I think this is a fair point, horses for courses and all that. We are a small side , stoke are going to murder us at set pieces .
Awfully hard chaps on somebody who hasn't been given a chance; it's not his fault he's here and if Neil picked him in the 25 then he must have had a clear reason to do so at the time. Either way I wish him luck in whatever happens.
Hope all you guys that reckon he is s**t have seen more of him than I have. I saw the one game he played at Wigan on the box, and other than a nervous start thought he did Ok. He hit Wigan's bar with a great header, not his own!! Whether he will be PL quality in 2 or 3 months or not, Neil will probably have sorted by January
