Tymon and Bowen are in the first team, you can't get much closer than that (so was Luer until he got injured).
Adding to what's already been said, Mannion, Olley and Batty also look like good prospects. Watson's having a good year at Ferriby, and hopefully Edwards will start banging them in for Accrington EDIT I also completely forgot about Max Clarke
Did the clean sweep unearth Rod Arnold under a carpet, Billy Russell lurking in a cupboard or Jeff Radcliffe's long lost Tartan cap?
This is a big loss, he has works wonders with the academy, but I can understand if he has been offered a good severance package as part of the option, probably thought it was time to move on and advance his career. Sad to see him go though.
Yep. I didn't agree with him moving up, I don't even think it's moving up. He had a specialist job and doing it well. He'll get other offers. Good luck to him
No package....it was in his contract that if things changed he would revert to his previous role....he chose not to and walked
Who took pennocks position when he moved up? Does seem odd the clean sweep of staff on 6 month contracts do they all walk if were relegated and we have no staff?
Pennock clearly has lost the passion for the U23s and has some ambition to work in senior football, in which case there's not much we could have done to keep him in the U23s. If we hadn't moved him up in the first place I still think he would have left at the end of this season to pursue chances elsewhere, so we were in a no win situation.
This is how I saw it, he was a specialist and should have been paid more to continue with the youth, as most will take a pay rise. Once promoted, his replacement deserves his opportunity. Good luck to both men.
The fact he was keen to step up to the first team to progress his career, and now on being offered a return to that specialist role he has said it wouldn't be the right step for his career. He has his sets higher now and that's fine.
