With Dagger out, could this pave a way for Paul Konchesky to be recalled from Notts Forest? he's done ok since going there including managing to get himself a goal. Thoughts?
I think his Liverpool career is over. I'll never forget seeing a young lad with Konchesky on his jersey around new years time. I'd say he regretted that!
I'm in general agreement with everybody else. No. He was never really good enough and he'll be out in the summer.
He's gone in the summer. He was sent on loan so he would get some football,His Liverpool career effectively ended in January. He will be the first of many to depart.I can see,Maxi,Soto,Aurelio,Degen,Aquilani,El Zhar,Jovanovic and Poulsen following him out the door.Joe Cole may and this is may gain a reprieve.
Stranger things have happened at sea! Konch at LB could happen. I agree with Pepe's transfers but think you can add Johnson to that list as well.
I still have a bit of a soft spot for Konchesky (seriously, I do - I thought we'd sign him way back when he played for Charlton). If we look at our current situation I think we could do with some experiance on the bench while Wilson plays LB. I think there are occasions where Wilson feels out of his depth and we could do with Konch coming on (even if it's for 45 minutes) to give Wilson time to slowly settle in to the role of a full time left back. The last thing I want is for Wilson to suffer Insua syndrome where is thrown in at the deep end and looks complelety out of depth with no-one to back him up
bozz we have to many players who are stop gaps untill we get this team right ie konchesky.we had a great team about 3 years ago or more with the likes of masch and alonso and crouch and keane and bellamy and risse and finnen and torres.when do we start building again and get a team that is settled?when stevie has hung his boots up? when carra has gone when pepe has gone when dirk has gone etc etc.we need a team that is going to be around together and playing together for the next 5 years at least to get a back bone for future succsess.
Thats FSG's overall strategy. They will allow players to be signed. There is no restriction on price...However there is a restriction on age. They want players brought in that will give value, that will be around for the next 6-7 years. They've started it already.Luis Suarez is 24,Andy Carroll is 22.I can't see players being signed that are over 25.25 I would say would be the maximum.
