First on what will be a long list of players to be linked with City. http://www.thisishullandeastriding....s-Paul-Green/story-15908982-detail/story.html
And certainly not one of the more exciting. I'm not actually convinced he'll benefit the team. We already have McKenna, Evans and Cairney, and I don't think any of those have done enough to deserve to be dropped from the entire squad. Unless of course he's a potential replacement for McKenna, if he only has 1 season left in him.
I would say that he's earmarked for the right midfield role that will be totally vacant come the end of the season, however from his hairdresser mate (see previous threads) I know he hates playing there and has had multiple bust-ups with Clough about it. Plus, he'll be after a massive signing-on fee and a pay rise from his present 11k a week which I cant see us giving. Hence, I reckon he'll go elsewhere and play centre-mid.
"Green's technical ability and versatility would suit Barmby's model and provide competition for Paul McKenna, Corry Evans and Tom Cairney in the heart of City's midfield, and provide cover at right-back." That could make him handy.
I hope we dont sign him. as many have said we have enough midfielders. cairney, evans & mckenna. we only play with 2 CM's anyway. just get a decent loan in to cover CM and we'll be fine.
Cannot see him getting a pay rise, its just Derby wanted to reduce his pay. With no transfer fee and some monies off our wage bill, I would have thought Green would be well within our budget
