Passion, an outburst of emotion, an irrational but irresistible motive for belief or action, disorder of the mind (madness), Feeling greatly connected to something. Passion is taking preference to something because you yourself enjoy whatever it is you feel passion for. it comes from your own mind and not the result of other peoples influences. Do we have enough of it at the KC? No not enough of it but for these last 6 home games( 540 minutes of football) we will need it so when you walk out into them stands tomorrow remember the word PASSION and do your bit and get behind them Tigers

Origin of the word is Greek 'passios', meaning to suffer (eg the film The Passion of the Christ)

So as City fans, yes we have all felt the 'passion'.......

I'm no doubt going to be lampooned for this but I honestly think we've got some of the least passionate fans around. There's a general apathy amongst City fans with a shrug of the shoulders type approach and always has been. I think it comes down to not having a proper rival.

I think the lack of a rival's quite significant. I can't be bothered to get into banter with a Hull born Liverpool fan because in general, they don't have a clue what being a football fan is about, so without day to day banter, we end up trying to explain to armchairs and non football types why their opinion's tainted by media myths and propoganda.

When i do come across genuine fans, I tend to have respect rather than an urge for banter.

This 'passion' thing in football is over-egged.

It's a mislabel for people's lack of self control, bad sportsmanship and an excuse for bad behaviour.

Often engaged by those who cannot accept the concept of losing to a rival (not necessarily local) team. It can be seen regularly
during games on our TV's on the occasions of corner-kicks, throw-in's, etc. when opposing players are subject to verbal abuse and intimidation.

It ain't passion it's loutish behaviour.

A post which sums up, with supporters like this, the atmosphere at the KC is so pathetic.
Why not go something which matches your idea of passion, like croquet where you can politely applaud whilst sat down?

Unfortunately it won't. Although those fans have got it all wrong, surely? All that atmosphere and not a goal scored to make them act that way. Surely they should be all sat like dummies awaiting for the team to give them something to be enthusiastic about? At least that is how some numpties on here think things should be.
Watch this clip, stick with it until you see the game they are watching. It would frighten some of our fans to death.

That is passion without being 'loutish' but it will never happen here.. it's the english culture.. If England won the world cup.. you can bet there wouldn't be mass parties on the street.. and any parties that would happen would flow into needless violence by drunken louts... I was in Gran canaria When spain won the World cup and for just a spanish island.. the street parties and passion were incredible.. a shame.. we'd frighten the other team to death if we could do that

The same fans in the link above at a home game. No roof, only a friendly and not having to have goals scored to stir them into any sort of support. Their equivalent of the West Stand seems a bit more boisterous than ours as well. Their security blokes are conducting the fans. Imagine the nervous breakdowns there would be here.
Watching this it is hilarious to think we had a nervous ninny posting about how dangerous it was for one City fan to let a flare off last week.

Besiktas have a designated guy to conduct the fans on the pitch before games before 20,000 commence to bounce at the same time.. it's incredible stuff

And shake your head, when someone near you tries to start a song or chant, because you think he's obviously a hooligan.

That's another thing, you can't be seen to be passionate or party and enjoy supporting the team without be deemed a hooligan.. I do love the Celtic and Rangers ultras their respective home grounds..
