Passing medicals

    i dont get this passing medicals farce even thou your injured...

    carroll - liverpool - passed medical even thou he pulled his thigh muscle
    ireland - villa - passed his medical even thou he can still be out for 2 weeks with his injury
    ben arfa - newcastle - broken leg, so how the hell did he pass a medical.


    i may sound like i am being thick, but come on.

    A medical is to check for things wrong with breathing and the heart. It's nothing to do with muscles or bones

    I think it's to assess if the player can make a recovery that makes them still worthy of purchase.

    eg. When Alan Smith was injured he would have failed a medical as it was suspected his career was over. Liverpool KNOW Carroll will make a full recovery based on what they have seen of him (a fairly minor injury).

    its just a quick assesment of the player, like said above.
