I've been thinking, that if we sign Scott Parker, should we make him our captain? With King almost always injured, we lack a real leader, apart from Daws of course. He showed with the Spammers that he can drive a team on, being motivational etc. I'd make Parker captain, with Dawson as vice. Thoughts...?
I wouldn't. With a quality, tackling midfield infront of him again, we'll see Dawson improve and I wouldn't want Parker to be captain as it'd make it more difficult to drop him and play Sandro/Hudd.

I believe that King is still technically captain with Dawson as vice-captain. In reality King plays so little that Dawson captains the team most regularly and a senior player (Thudd, Corluka(?), Gallas) is vice-captain on the day. Making Parker captain immediately is not the solution IMO, it would understandably unsettle the team especially the established players like King, Dawson etc. who are already the leaders. No doubt however that if Parker came to the club he would be perhaps a vocal, inspirational figure of the type we have missed recently who, if he stayed for a couple of years, could well captain the club.
I've never rated Dawson, not sure why too many do to be honest. I think it's clear that he and Kaboul don't compliment each other very well. I've said for a while now Spurs need to be in the market for another centre half. Someone like Samba or better Cahill would be solid at the back and a good addition for your squad. With a better CB playing alongside him, Kaboul will improve.
Dawson looks twice the player with a King or Gallas alongside him. I think he needs a confidence boost to find his best form again because when he does he can be brilliant for us, he just hasn't shown it recently.
If he can sort our midfield out and put a bit of backbone in the team he can be the F***ing chairman as far as I'm concerned.
Agreed. Parker is a leader on the pitch and a great player don't get me wrong but I feel Sandro has the potential to be a far better all round player than Parker. Sandro need's the minutes and as SFT 10 said, making Parker captain will limit Sandro's playing time and therefore hinder is development. Mind you, lets just hope he signs first as this topic will be pointless otherwise.
