We have to keep an eye on the cabaye situation the windows open until 11pm Monday so in other words keep your bids coming in as soon as you meet our valuation he goes it doesn't matter if its 10.30 Monday night ! He should be saying he's not going now there has to be a cut off point as it doesn't leave us enough time to get a replacement ! but our club doesn't do things like that these days does it

What and look like an idiot when he does go? Its not in his hands. He just trying to persuade them to actually do the necessary and strengthen the squad. Every thing gets laid at his door, every comment he makes is scrutinised beyond what is sensible. He hasn't been great last season or the start of this before today (when I thought he got things spot on), but there are limits to the blame game. Stevie Wonder can see we are 2 or 3 short.

He doesn't need this to happen to make him look like an idiot he's done it on numerous occasions himself with the rubbish he spouts frequently

Changed the game today though with his substitutions. And is mid week support for Debuchy seemed to do no harm <ok>

Hey I've no problem with praising pardew but he seems to come out with stupid comments to the media time after time and shoots himself in the foot 99% of the time and you sit there and think what the f... You saying that for ,very annoying

He definitely has his moments of looking the plonker. I don't really care as long as we win though. SAF made a career out of being a knob in the press. Indeed most managers come out with some crazy ****. Look at Benitez and his facts <laugh> It means little unless you mistakenly place great importance in it. His lack of getting the best out of them last season concerned me though.

He was very critical of HBA. Surprised those comments didn't stay in the dressing room ...

don't think he was overly critical myself, just very honest (and pretty accurate). Pards was pretty even handed, praising him and criticising him in equal measure. He is very frustrating at times and needs to learn to release and cross early sometimes. As he says though he is a maverick and can change a game. As for being public, I think he just understands that HBA is the type if he overflows with praise, it'll go to his head and he won't bother correcting his faults to improve. Loads of bosses do it, generally with highly talented types.

So Pardew is in charge of the line but only seems to get it out when there's a microphone in his face.
Therefore if we attach some microphones to potential signings then Pardew can trot the party line out and Joe can push them over it?

Listening to the BBC interview I don't see the problem.
He was clear that unless an early bid is made for Cabaye it won't be accepted. Party line or not that's his answer.
Probably fair enough with HBA, great goal but he was frustrating as f*** at times.
He can't win can he, he gets slaughtered when he doesn't criticise players, slaughtered when he does, been slaughtered for positive man management this week.

I thought he did well today, and maybe for once, he should be given some credit instead of looking for something negative yet again.

When he stops saying 'Trust me' I'll be more inclined to give him a fair rub of the green. Second half was probably the polar opposite of the drudgery served up down at Morecambe. Obviously it wasn't the same team mind.

This. He came across as very honest in the BBC interview and made the right moves during the match to get us the 3 points.
We clearly still need more firepower but this is the happiest I've been since beating Anzhi back in March. I just hope it doesn't lead to any (more) boardroom complacency

Pardew didn't do much wrong yesterday. Players were short of confidence first half. He coaxed out an improved 2nd half performance. Good subs too. Ball was mostly kept on the deck and, particularly after his subs, the passing was fast and accurate and we attacked in numbers and with pace. His comments regarding Cabaye are common sense - how can he set deadlines etc when he is not in charge of transfers?

Unwarranted criticism. We will rightly condemn him when tactics, subs, performances etc are poor. Should do the opposite when he does his job well.

Imo the last 25 minutes was the best football we played in years. The balance felt right. I think that remy will slot in nice net to cisse. Cisse needs a goal. Pardew got it right today and for once we should therefore give him credit.
