I have to say he says the right things and we seem to be playing well given our squad, however I am worried his fall down will be his signings. If It's true he rates Carlton Cole then I hope his rubber stamp has ran out of ink having signed the players Graham Carr has tipped prior.

I really hope it's lazy journalism because he is 27 and no doubt on high wages, so it would suggest it's a load of rubbish given our so called blueprint for players under 25 and that meet national minimum wage.

For heavans sake he is no better than Ameobi so whats the point. Infact I think he is worse. 7 million hes not worth 4.

    Come on Alan

I think it's a ruse so he ends up at Liverpool.

He's been talking about getting 'entertainers' in, so he CAN'T be after Cartlon Cole. I'd rather have Carlton Banks from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. At least when he dances he IS entertaining...that'd be a goal celebration worth seeing!

It will be a serious let down if he signs Cole. He has all the attributes of quite a good manager, but then he could utterly let himself down by having moronic perceptions of players.

I just don't get it. NO ONE thinks he's good. You can look at his goalscoring record for proof, so why the hell would Pardew rate him and want him here? I hope he wakes up.

I think a lot of fans have reserved judgement on Pardew to see how he performs in this summer's transfer window. The old cliche about managers only being as good as their signings has never been more true.

So much rests on who Pardew manages to bring in this summer, with the right signings the club could push forward from what has been a very good first season back in the Premiership, and the rebuilding process at the club will gain even more momentum. If he makes poor signings we could be back in the relegation scrap next season and looking at the club being once again plunged into turmoil.

I know this sounds a bit dramatic, but I truly believe that the club can only go one of 2 ways. I don't feel that we will stagnate in 12th,13th or 14th position, so it will be either top 10 or bottom 5.

Carlton Cole wouldn't be up there with his best signings, let's just say that.

At West Ham he bought in Carlos Tevez, Carlton Cole hardly weighs up to that signing, does it? <doh>

Aye he brought in Tevez and Mascherano but then proceeded to not rate them much and hardly ever play the two
