Paranoia

*“There has been extensive criticism of referees and the SFA this season and we are now questioning the impact of that criticism.”

When I read this quote from the bald male model Martin Bain, it made me laugh.

I’ve never been a Celtic supporter who takes much notice of the more extreme view that there is some kind of plot against us. In my opinion the mistakes made by ref’s in the past few seasons have been more to do with the quality of referees in this country.

Having seen Celtic players being onside and flagged off and some very stupid decisions made, it is possible to get into the mindset of bias.

Now it seems after all the shouts of tin hats and paranoia from the Rangers fans have came right back to bite them in the arse with Mr Bain’s comments.

At the time when Celtic complained about the Dougie, Dougie incident, we were ridiculed from all angles.

Celtic were not responsible for the fallout from this. When the linesman resigned and went to the papers to claim he was bullied, it was not at Celtic’s bequest. When Hugh Dallas sent emails it was not Celtic who set him up.

In fact, let’s look at what Celtic did after the Dundee game….

We asked the question why the penalty decision was disallowed and Lennon made a glib remark in the Hamilton game about how he was sure the ref’s would get their story straight after an honest mistake.

If anybody was responsible for the mayhem that ensued, it was the press.

Referee test results were released and the pressure mounted on the refs bringing about a dolls out the pram style strike.

Now it would seem that Rangers are trying to use this situation to their own advantage. This is nothing short of desperate and a bit of a dirty tactic.

Whittaker’s sending off was soft only because of his first yellow card. Now, we all know that he had a couple of fouls before this first yellow card and that true to form, the ref would hand out a yellow to the first player to have a few fouls, to try and stamp his authority on a match. It happens week in week out.

It was a soft one, but the responsibility then passes to said player to screw the nut. Just like Dan, Wilson and Brown had to do when they got carded. But he didn’t.

What we saw from the ref in the last OF game was a level playing field. The ref had to make the right calls….And to be honest, I think it was one of the best performances from a ref in any recent OF game I’ve seen. If anything, I would suggest the only wrong decision he made was Brown’s yellow card.

Martin Bain’s comments about the impact of Celtic asking why Dougie, Dougie changed his mind, is laughable and desperate.

The more I hear from this guy, the more I laugh.

I just can’t get enough.

It is laughable, but what amazes me most is the Gers fans who cried "paranoia" every time we complained about a decision, are the first to support his and the RST's ravings.

It's no different to saying the Refs are biased which Incidentally no one at Celtic has said.

To be fair, a lot of Rangers fans dislike Bain as well.

However, the reason they hate him is because they see him as weak and ineffectual. The reaction from many of them over Bain's performance at the summit yesterday was astounding. They accused him of bending over for Peter Lawwell and all but accused him of being "Celtic-minded".

We can now add him to Derek Johnstone, Gordon Dalziel, Billy Dodds and even Richard Gough as "taig sympathisers".

As for George Peat: he's nothing but a little man trying to act the big man. Sooner he's gone, the better.
