Found this little jem on PSG's official website. Official: Dembelé signed to Fulham In the sights of several European clubs including Manchester United, Moussa Dembele, pledged Friday to Fulham for a period of three years, as reported by Le Parisien. Had no idea PSG were monitoring Dembele, there are a few articles on their website about Dempsey but this is the first time I've seen Dembele pop up. The article suggests Dembele has signed a three year contract extension. Obviously this is to be taken with a pinch of salt as the official FFC website has reported nothing of the sort.
It's a bit confusing but I think the 'Dembele' referred to is a 16 year old - http://www.paristeam.fr/club/officiel-dembele-a-signe-a-fulham-91304.html
If only, Bandit! If we did, could we sell the 16 year old to Manchester Utd for £20m and keep the one we know and love?
It would appear to be true! We have signed this 16 year old striker from PSG called Moussa Dembele. What is it with Fulham and signing players with the same name. Collins John/John Collins Niclas Jensen/Claus Jensen John Arne Riise/Bjorn Helge Riise. Moussa Dembele/Moussa Dembele Steven Davis/Simon Davies Can anyone think of any more? They have to have been at the club at the same time. Hence why Sean Davis can't go with Steven.
I think we do now... http://www.insidefutbol.com/2012/07...ain-for-16-year-old-striking-prospect/65458/? Unlike Dembele (number 1) Dembele (number 2) is French. Looks as though he is a striker however as he is only 16 we may not be seeing him in the starting 11 for a season or so. He looks like a good prospect though.
If they both get to play for the team at the same time it could be a bit confusing for the shirt printers. We can't differentiate them with an initial - perhaps we could go for Dembele Snr and Dembele Jr. Or even like they do in Public schools (or used to) Dembele Major and Dembele Minor.
Fox were reporting Dempsey like it was a done deal earlier. There was a fuss last week, also, when Dempsey was temporarily added to the squad list on LFC.TV. Read what you will. We go on a US tour on Wednesday I think, so any deal will probably happen by then. Reported fee is £6M... Thoughts? What did you buy him for?
I was thinking that if we could afford Berbatov it would be great up front!! His style of play looks lazy but he is a very clever player.
£6m is a bit of a stinger for us. If it wasn't for his age (still only 29) and the fact he's into his last year he'd be worth at least four times that. I'm of the opinion that if we get less than £8m for him we may as well hang onto him for another year then let him go for nothing. In any case, he's on our pre-season tour with us in Germany, so unless he's having talks with Liverpool on Skype, I think things are far from done.
Agreed Bids, £6m is an insult. Who knows, by January the interest might have died down and he will sign a contract extension?
This from the Independent, talking about Andy Carroll (the interesting bit for us comes at the end of the section I've quoted). The article - http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...o-as-move-home-stalls-over-terms-7945406.html - also says that along with West Ham and Villa we made approaches for Caroll last week 'which were turned down'. Anyway, on to the quote: 'Carroll's future looked more insecure after Liverpool secured the £8.5m signing of Roma striker Fabio Borini on Friday. The fact that the new Liverpool football directorate, headed by Rodgers, has yet to be fully assembled means that there is unlikely to be further buying activity from them in the transfer market in the next few weeks. Rumours that the club are moving for Fulham's Clint Dempsey are well wide of the mark.'
Noticed in the gossips, the name of Carlton Cole keeps cropping up. Surely no one at the Cottage is interested in him,my faith in our managements judgement would be completely blown out of the water if any move was made in his direction.
Jordan Rhodes The local Huddersfield paper is running an article - http://www.examiner.co.uk/huddersfield-town-fc/huddersfield-town-news/2012/07/16/86081-31400372/ Sounds like the 'calm before the storm' and somebody will be doing business soon. Don't know if it will be us but we are the bookies favourite.
No thanks! I'd be very surprised if Jol went for him - what does he have that Johnson, Zamora and Sa don't? If we got him it would be superb business! We can surely afford to slash the cash as we've spent bugger all so far.
I just can't see Carroll coming to us simply because of the wages. If we didn't go for Pogrebnyak because of wages what chance Carroll. West Ham are more likely to pay the silly money. And Newcastle might get him back if Liverpool still owe them money from the deal. The only way Liverpool would get Dempsey for £6m, if there were add-ons for goals scored, trophies won etc. Less than £8m and it's not worth selling him, as we have to get a quality replacement.
To be fair Roscafre, I can't remember you having a lot of faith in our management since Roy left (and HE was the one who spent squillions on your long-lost favourite, AJ!). I'm not saying I disagree with you about Carlton Cole though. No thanks.
